Recap / Ed Edd N Eddy S 3 E 18 O Ed Eleven

Go To

O-Ed Eleven is the 18th episode of Season 3 of Ed, Edd n' Eddy.

As Eddy is showing his friends around his brother's old room, the Eds eventually stumble across a map where Eddy says it is supposed to lead to his brother's secret stash. However, it turns out this treasure is located underneath the trailer of the dreaded Kanker Sisters. The Eds all venture to the trailer park in order to get the treasure but face the difficulty of alerting the Kankers.

My brother's a whiz at listing tropes!

  • Accidental Pervert: When the Eds try to pull the "treasure" free, they eventually succeed but end up pulling so hard that Ed (who's in his underpants) is launched with the treasure and he crashes through the floor of the Kankers' trailer and winds up in the bathroom where Marie is currently bathing, and they both scream in horror when they see each other.
  • Berserk Button: Eddy does not want anyone touching his brother's stuff. Also, Ed didn't really appreciate Edd making a negative comment about his smelly gym bag.
Ed: It's not just a gym bag, Double D. It's a WAY OF LIFE!!!
  • Big Sister Instinct: Lee and May burst into the bathroom the minute Marie screams after Ed bursts through the floor.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Ed and Edd were able to escape the clutches of the Kankers due to paying the 50 cents each to them. However, Eddy isn't so lucky as he is stuck trapped in the trailer most likely to be kissed over and over again.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Eddy's brother hid in a map in his room, knowing: 1) Eddy would go into his room and find it; 2) Eddy wouldn't resist the chance to solve the map and find hidden treasure; 3) someone would eventually solve the map by putting Eddy in front of a projection of it and then overlay the cul-de-sac map on top of it; 4) the exact location of the Kankers' trailer in the trailer park to put the 'X' in.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: Ed gives us this gem in this episode:
Ed: Because I am a brother, and Eddy's brother is a brother, and Eddy is a brother to Eddy's brother as a brother I am.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Of all people, Ed was the one that was able to solve the map's puzzle whereas Edd had no idea how to solve it.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even Ed found the underneath of the Kanker's trailer to be too smelly.
  • Foreshadowing: The map turning out to be a trick, as well as Double D's line that Eddy's brother was "a whiz at pulling [his] leg" subtly foreshadows that Eddy's brother is nothing more than a bully, not the Cool Big Bro Eddy claims he is.
  • Fool's Map: The map the Eds found turns out to be nothing but a trick. As Double D puts it, Eddy's brother was "a whiz at pulling [his] leg".
  • Funny Background Event: As the Kankers watch TV, Ed (covered in butter) can be seen through the window slipping around.
  • Lampshade Hanging: In response to Edd being unable to solve the map's puzzle, Eddy says he's the smart one and is throwing off their group's dynamic by failing like this.
  • Modesty Towel: Marie covers herself with one when the Kankers have the Eds cornered in the bathroom.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Edd was really upset at himself for not bringing enough quarters to save Eddy as well. Ed assures to Edd that he still tried to do the right thing.
  • Oh, Crap!: Happens several times:
    • When the Eds learn that the treasure is located within the trailer park with the Kanker Sisters.
    • When Ed picks up the entire trailer with the Kankers inside, both Edd and Eddy were petrified with Edd, while gritting his teeth, telling Ed to put the trailer down.
    • When all three Eds end up in the bathroom of the Kanker's home and find themselves face to face with the Kankers. It doesn't help that the "treasure" turned out to be wishbones that May misplaced sometime ago.
    • Due to being in the tub, Marie screams after Ed bursts through the floor.
  • "Open!" Says Me: Eddy claims that he has a key to open the door to his brother's room. It's a crowbar.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Edd's "Walter Sobchak" disguise. It's pretty easy to tell it's Edd but fortunately for him, the Kankers aren't all that bright to see through it (though Lee did asked for identification forcing Edd to quickly craft a (very poorly) made ID badge).
  • Pet the Dog: Edd was pretty upset for being unable to pay for Eddy's escape wishing he brought more quarters, but Ed assures to him that he still did the "brotherly thing" and walks him out of the trailer park.
  • Running Gag: Eddy constantly saying how his brother is a wiz at "...insert random phrase here".
  • Sadistic Choice: For Eddy, it's either pay 50 cents to the Kankers or get kissed by them. Eddy didn't like the fact of doing that and Edd was only able to pay for his and Ed's escape.
  • Secret Room: The door to Eddy's brother's room is covered up with wallpaper, on top of being barricaded and nailed shut.
  • Security Cling: Upon seeing the Kankers now know they're there, Double D grabs onto Ed for dear life.
  • Shout-Out: Double D use the alias Walter Sobchack to fool the Kanker sisters.
  • Stylistic Self-Parody: The map Eddy's brother left behind doesn't have an X until it's projected onto Eddy's head, the X representing his ear marking the X on the map.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Considering Ed and Edd were dragged along by Eddy to dig up the treasure from the Kanker's trailer, it's only fair that they were able to escape while Eddy gets left behind.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Considering the Eds (mainly Eddy) were willing to go to the Kanker's trailer for the treasure. It doesn't help at one point when Edd and Eddy were prepping Ed with butter to slide under the trailer, he screams at the top of his lungs on how he has become "buttered toast" risking the Kankers hearing them. Also, picking up the trailer wasn't a good idea.
  • Use Your Head: Upon hearing Marie screaming, Lee breaks the door down... using May as a battering ram.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Eddy was pretty upset at Edd for not solving the map's puzzle saying that he is supposed to be the "brains" of the group.
  • "X" Marks the Spot: Edd is baffled at the fact that the map has no X to indicate where the treasure is buried. It's Ed who figures out that, by projecting the map onto Eddy's face, the trail leads to the X on Eddy's ear.
