"The Prank Master has gotten everyone. We're next!"
Eddy just loves being the King of Pranks, but then the Eds find the cul-de-sac kids falling victim of pranks set up by the "Prank Master", and now the Eds are the only victims left...until they learn the truth.

Tropes

  • Bittersweet Ending: The Eds get their revenge on the kids with the El Mongo Stink Bomb, but their prank proves to only be partially successful. They end up as victims of their own prank due to being at Ground Zero in the blast, therefore getting the worst of itnote .
  • Calling Card: The Prank Master leaves a Joker card with "Prank Master" written on it at the site of each prank. As the Eds run for cover, several of the cards rain on them like bullets from a fighter plane.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Eddy creates the giant El Mongo Stink Bomb to get revenge on the kids for their "Prank Master" prank. However, neither he nor the other Eds considered the possibility of the giant stink bomb getting stuck in the garage door. Causing them to also get hit by the stink bomb, at Ground Zero.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Double D displays a more mischievous side here, with his attempted prank on Eddy and his willingness to enact revenge on the kids. He probably wouldn't be much of a prankster nowadays, nor would he ever participate in such a vengeful stunt.
  • Everybody Did It: It turns out all the Cul-de-Sac kids were the Prank Master.
  • Foreshadowing: Rolf is grinning while telling the Eds who the Prank Master is.
  • Hidden Depths: Ed is briefly seen carefully giving Baron O'Beef Dip, his toy gargoyle-type-thing, a fresh coat of paint.
  • Never My Fault: Eddy assumes that a jawbreaker lying on the ground is a setup to prank them. Jimmy and Sarah take it and know it's a simple jawbreaker. Eddy then has the gall to get mad at the Eds for being cautious, even though he was the one who let the jawbreaker go. Edd and especially Ed call him out on this with a Death Glare.
  • Paranoia Gambit: The Cul-de-sac kids pretended to be pranked by the Prank Master so the Eds would become paranoid about being pranked next. When they see a jawbreaker on the driveway, they are immediately suspicious that it's a trap, so they refuse to take it. Then Sarah and Jimmy arrive and take it, revealing that it was real after all. This makes the Eds angry at each other and giving themselves wedgies, which was the kids' plan the whole time.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Eddy gets his revenge on the Cul-de-Sac kids for pranking him earlier, but thanks to going overboard, he also gets caught up in his own revenge prank.
  • Scary Jack-in-the-Box: Jimmy opens a present that disgorges an enormous, inflatable, scarily laughing clown.
  • Smelly Feet Gag: The final ingredient for the El Mongo Stink Bomb is one of Ed's stinky socks, which Edd handles with a long pole to avoid having to touch it.
  • Stink Bomb: The Eds respond to being pranked by building the mother of all stink bombs, the El Mongo Stink Bomb. Unfortunately, it's so big it gets stuck in the garage door, and as the Eds try to push it out, it explodes right in their faces.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: The kids intentionally prank themselves to throw off suspicion from the Eds, thus tricking them into wedgieing themselves.
  • Wedgie: Eddy gets angry at Edd after the jawbreaker they thought was a trap turned out to be real and reacts by pulling up his underwear and tying it to his hat. Edd then returns the favor by administering the classic atomic wedgie. Finally, both pull Ed's pants all the way to his armpits for laughing at them both.
