Annie ropes Duncan into her investigation of a criminal selling counterfeit goods; Jack ends up making Kimberly and Jing violently ill in his attempt to be a cool dad.

- Cordon Bleugh Chef: Rather than eat the healthy meal Annie prepared for them, Jack, Kimberly and Jing make a stew out of random stuff from the fridge, calling it "Chessaroni". It ends up making them sick.
- Exact Words: Annie makes Principal Mitch promise to not sell counterfeit sneakers anymore. He continues to sell knockoffs, though, just not sneakers.
- The Food Poisoning Incident: The "Cheesaroni" Jack and the girls eat make them seriously ill. Soon they get diarrhea and find out that there's three of them but only two bathrooms.
- Guilt by Association Gag: Annie believes it's a crime to be friends with a misogynist.
- Henpecked Husband: The bee being told by his wife to chase the kids that are hitting the hive."Why does it always come to this?"

- No, Except Yes: Duncan assuming "that time of the month" refers to Annie's period. To which Annie replies that she means quota day for her job, but she also happens to be on her period.
- Not-So-Safe Harbor: The Docks Annie and Duncan stake out at is full of shady people, including the culprit behind the counterfeit sneakers.
- Pedal-to-the-Metal Shot: Attempted by Annie when she tries to give chase after the mysterious van at the docks, only to soon find out that her car's wheels have been stolen by unseen thieves in the meantime.
- Scary Stinging Swarm: Duncan and his friends are trying to knock down a beehive. When he finds out the sneakers they just bought are fake, Duncan throws one at the hive and the bees swarm after them.
- Shoddy Knockoff Product: The Air Jordans Duncan, Bex and Wolf buy from a popup store turn out to be fakes. Downplayed in that they aren't all that different, but once Yangzi points out the small differences, Duncan is outraged that he fell for such an "obvious" fake.
- Tempting Fate: Jack tells Kimberly and Jing the Cheesaroni couldn't be what made them sick because he also ate it and he's not... he then starts feeling ill as well.
- There Is No Kill Like Overkill: During her Imagine Spot, Annie sentences a suspect to the electric chair and then hanged.
