While he and Jun are struggeling with their relationship following their break-up, Tom's newest plan to defeat Jörmungandr is to stun him with the Speed Stinger poison long enough to bring him back into his cage. To get the poison into the massive dragon, he, Alex and Jun get Buzzsaw's ballista. They also take Ford and Winston captive after they surrendered to them fearing Buzzsaw's wrath. Confronting Jörmungandr, the riders' plan almost succeeds but Buzzsaw, enraged they freed his captured dragons and stole his ballista, foiled their plan only to be chased off by Jörmungandr.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • All Myths Are True: Jun believes that Jörmungandr destroying the Hidden World is what Ragnarök from Norse Mythology refers to.
  • Amicable Exes: Unlike in the last episode, it's more Played With in this episode. While they are generally on good terms and still show great worry and care for each other, Tom's and Jun's interactions are a lot more awkward and they even get into a fight at one point.
  • Bond Creatures: Pete bonded to the Speed Stinger he was fond of last episode.
  • Captured on Purpose: After being unable to prevent the riders from stealing Buzzsaw's ballista, Ford and Winston let themself be taken captive by the heroes in order to avoid facing Buzzsaw's wrath.
  • Character Focus: Pete gets the most screen-time he got all series as he has successfully bonded with the Speed Stinger the riders need.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Ending up stuck in-between Tom's and Jun's post-relationship awkwardness, Alex brought her A-game this episode.
  • Ex-Big Bad: When Buzzsaw returns this episode, he is overshadowed by Jörmungandr both in terms of threat and literally.
  • Exit, Pursued by a Bear: After interfering with Tom's plan to stun Jörmungandr, Buzzsaw and Old Jack get chased off by the Apex Predator.
  • Heroic BSoD: After Buzzsaw foiled their plan, Tom is visibly depressed.
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: Buzzsaw is using Jörmungandr's rampage to his advantage by swooping in and grabbing any dragon Jörmungandr weakened with its Breath Weapon.
  • Like an Old Married Couple: When Jun and Tom are bickering over whose fault it is they were discovered by Ford and Winston, Alex tells them they behave like and old married couple.
  • Negative Continuity: In the previous episode, Tom and Jun were full-on Amicable Exes. In this episode, it's depicted as being more complicated with them acting a lot more awkward around each other.
  • Not Helping Your Case: When Jun awkwardly suggests bringing Alex along with her and Tom to get Buzzsaw's ballista, Alex call her and Tom an "awkward sandwich" and says she wants no part in it. Jun then goes on to try and make it sound her and Tom's relationship is not awkward but ends awkwardly bumbeling over her words in a barely coherent string of words.
  • Oh, Crap!: The moment he realizes Jörmungandr is right behind him, Buzzsaw gets panicked and runs away screaming.
  • Pet the Dog: After returning home from their failed attempt at capturing Jörmungandr, Eugene is ready to lay the blame for the failure on Tom. But seeing how saddened he is, Eugene instead acknowledges he did his best.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: After being captured and brought to Rakke Town, Ford and Winston remain absent for the rest of the series.
