The Dragon Hunters are using Catastrophic Quakens to mine marble, and it's up to the riders to figure out why and save the Quakens.
Tropes:
- The Chew Toy: A Running Gag in this episode is Barf and Belch repeatedly taking injuries. By the end of the episode, they have both wings and several legs broken, and an eye poked and bloodshot.
- Collapsing Lair: The sheer destructive capabilities of the two Quakens makes the island where the mining operation is taking place fall apart.
- Eye Scream: One of the many injuries Barf and Belch receive in this episode.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Viggo was mining marble to make a dragon-proof base of operations. Fishlegs frees the Quakens he was using in the mining operation and uses them to wrecking ball the nearly completed base into rubble.
- I Regret Nothing: Shouted by Tuffnut as Barf and Belch fall out of the sky. Ruffnut, on the other hand, yells "I regret everything!"
- Too Dumb to Live: The Dragon Hunters were warned by Hiccup that the island was sinking and they respond by sending the Quakens to destroy Hiccup and his allies which don't end well for them.
- Worf Had the Flu: Toothless repeatedly suffers from this, as Hiccup's experimental tailfins tend to cripple his flight and prevent him from outflying the Quakens chasing them.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Fishlegs initially thinks he can try and tame these Quakens the same way he tamed the one in Dark Deep. Unfortunately, these Quakens are too accustomed to captivity, and if Meatlug hadn't lost her nerve, she and Fishlegs would've been squashed flat.
