When the dragon riders discover a Skrill, a lightning-powered dragon revered by the Berserkers, that happens to be frozen in ice, they scramble to get it off Berk. But when the Skrill is thawed out and unleashed, Hiccup and Toothless are faced with a battle between both the Skrill and Dagur the Deranged’s Berserker armada which could prove to be more than Hiccup and Toothless can handle.

- Cliffhanger: Alvin is the one who gets the Skrill in the end, and the twins are the only ones who know this.
- The Dreaded: Skrills channel lightning, can hit multiple targets at once, and were used by the Berserkers to attack enemies. Nobody on Berk is comfortable knowing they have a Skrill on their hands.
- The Farmer and the Viper: When Bucket and Mulch decide to help some Berserkers who they thought were shipwrecked:Mulch: (deadpan) They attacked us.
- He Knows Too Much: His next line states that they attacked because Bucket and Mulch had seen the Skrill.
- From Bad to Worse: The riders are just barely keeping up with the Skrill when Dagur shows up.
- Harmless Freezing: Thanks to their internal body heat, Skrills can stay frozen for decades and not suffer ill effects when freed.

- Squee: Fishlegs, when he and Hiccup confirm the dragon in the ice to be a Skrill. Awkwardness ensues when he realizes he squeed in front of Stoick.

- The Unintelligible: After being hit by the Skrill's Lightning Gun, Snotlout can't form a coherent word.

- What Could Possibly Go Wrong?: Hiccup left the twins and Snotlout in charge of the frozen Skrill, and somehow didn't see them releasing it. To be fair, he expected the Skrill to have some ill effects after being frozen.
