Freeza: Well, between you and the Namekian, I think I've lost my touch at genocide.

The end has come for the Prince of All Saiyans. Just like Freeza said.

Freeza has reached his final form, and killed Dende! But Vegeta doesn't care. He's become a Super Saiyan! Or so he thinks. Also, Goku's fully healed.

Pardon me, that trope's a new one:

• Brick Joke: With regards to Freeza's "The Reason You Suck" Speech below, Freeza promised to make Vegeta "cry like a little bitch" before their fight ended. After Vegeta realizes that he's completely outmatched, and possibly not a Super Saiyan, Freeza states that "it's like I told you, Vegeta: like a bitch," and notes that Vegeta actually is crying.
• Call-Back:
  • Vegeta repeats the same speech about him having ascended to becoming a Super Saiyan from Episode 25 verbatim, much to Freeza's annoyance. He later repeats it again regarding Goku after the latter shows up and deflects Freeza's Death Beam Spam, earning his death.
  • The Jockstrap Incident briefly mentioned by Vegeta in Episode 23 is brought up once again as Freeza laments his total loss of manpower, noting that Captain Ginyu isn't even alive to bury the bodies this time.
  • The "DODGE!" Running Gag with Piccolo is brought up once again.
  • Freeza realizes that Goku's line of "Imma deck you in the schnoz!" is actually the first new heroic phrase uttered towards him that he's heard in a while, referencing a line he gave the Namekians in his introductory episode.
  • Goku answers Freeza's question about who he is with "I'm Goku! I'm insane, from Earth!" with Vegeta saying that he means "Saiyan," just like they did with the Ginyu Force in Episode 21.
  • A Deleted Scene has Vegeta attempting to "rock (Freeza) like a hurricane," like he did to the Arlian King, only for Freeza to completely block the telekinetic rock, at which point, Vegeta comments that he "should've known that was only a one-hit wonder."
• Comically Missing the Point:
  • Freeza tells the others not to mourn Dende's death since Freeza's spared him from watching him kill the others. Vegeta replies by telling Freeza: "Joke's on you; He hated the bald one."
    • Krillin then does this to Vegeta doing it, pointing out that Dende only just met Piccolo.
  • When Goku asks about what happened to Vegeta, Freeza says that it happened because the two of them had a disagreement: Vegeta wanted himself to live, and Freeza didn't [want him to]. Goku misinterprets this as meaning that Freeza wants to die.
• Description Cut: Goku tells King Kai inside his healing pod not to worry about his friends and that he's sure they're doing just fine. Cut to Team Three Star freaking out over Dende's death:
  Vegeta: Healer's down!
  Krillin: Need a rez! ^note resurrection
  Gohan: Out of mana!
  (All three scream)
• Pet the Dog: Freeza may consider letting his underlings live as their payment, but he's still willing to give the Ginyu Force's families wine and gift baskets as condolence presents.
• Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Goku finally has one Freeza has never heard before, after so frequently noting how frequently he's heard different attempted ones.
  Goku: Are you that "Freezer" guy?
  Freeza: I am Lord Freeza, yes.
  Goku: Awesome! I'mma deck you in the schnoz!
  Freeza: (drops Vegeta) I'm sorry, that's a new one.
• Pun: Freeza tells Vegeta to "let me tell you a tale," before using his tail to swat Vegeta into the water.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: While the first time Vegeta gave his ascension speech, Freeza responded with sarcasm, the second time has him doing this:
  Freeza: Okay, seriously. First off: "Super Saiyan." What is that? What even is that? I'll tell you what it is: It's just some stupid legend, passed by your filthy monkey ancestors around a campfire like it was their own dung. Let me tell you, Vegeta: I don't deal in legends, I deal in facts. And here's a fact: By the end of this, you are going to be crying... like a little... bitch.
• Rule of Three: Vegeta gives his "You're not dealing with the average Saiyan warrior" speech to Freeza three times (including the first time a couple of episodes back) before the latter kills him over it.
• Shout-Out:
  • The beginning of the episode has Goku singing Harry Nilsson's "Coconut" while inside his healing pod.
  • Vegeta replies to Freeza's "The Reason You Suck" Speech by saying that Freeza's "just jealous of my Super Saiyan Swagger."
  • Vegeta shouts "Dakka-Dakka-Dakka!" while firing a Beam Spam at Freeza.
    • During this, Piccolo mentions that Vegeta keeps missing Freeza, because he's shooting at where he is and not where he's going to be.
  • At one point, Freeza compares killing Vegeta to "putting down Old Space Yeller." At this point, Krillin has had it with the Space "X" Running Gag going on all season.
  • After knocking Vegeta into the water, Freeza raises it up so he can continue beating Vegeta to the score from The Ten Commandments (1956).
  • A crab with a Jamaican accent offers to help Vegeta defeat Freeza- until Freeza eats it.
  • Goku later sings "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" with King Kai and Tien joining in at different intervals. The healing pod finishes healing him before Yamcha can join in.
  • Vegeta once again attempts to rock his opponent like a hurricane. It doesn't work as well against Freeza.
