Beebe is having a Halloween party with a costume contest. After Doug's homemade Lucky Duck monster costume is destroyed by Dirtbike, Doug needs help for a new Halloween costume. So he goes to Skeeter, Judy, Mr. Dink, and Roger for help, but Doug can't believe they are all too busy to help him.

Tropes:

  • All Just a Dream: Luckily, Bluffington being overrun by Doug clones ends up being just a bad dream Doug was having.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Doug wishes that everyone would be more like him and quickly learns why it’s so important for everyone to just be themselves.
  • Bedsheet Ghost: When Dirtbike ruins his costume, Doug considers going as one of these to Bebe’s party.
  • Call-Back: Bebe’s having a Halloween party at Bloodstone Manor in Funky Town, which opened for the first time in “Doug’s Halloween Adventure.”
  • Drowning My Sorrows: When all of his plans for a new costume fall through, Doug intends to drown his sadness in his favorite ice cream flavor. However, even that idea doesn’t work out for him when he finds out Buttery Brickle has been discontinued.
  • Evil Doppelgänger: Doug quickly begins to realize that he has a doppelganger that’s been going around living his life and who may or may not be an alien taking over his identity in order to conquer the world.
  • Halloween Episode
  • Kick Them While They Are Down: In a last ditch effort to get a ride to the costume shop, Doug asks Roger, who decides to take the opportunity to insult him and leave him in the dust.
  • Latex Perfection: Fentruck, bizarrely, ends up also going as Doug Funnie for Halloween in a scarily accurate costume.
  • Luminescent Blush: Roger embarrasses Doug so thoroughly in his Imagine Spot about his lame Bedsheet Ghost costume that his blush glows straight through the sheet.
  • Murphy's Law: Doug is having a horrible day, it seems like everything that could go wrong does go wrong for him.
  • Roadside Wave: As if his day can’t get any worse, a car drives by and splashes Doug while he’s standing on the sidewalk.
  • Send in the Clones: Doug wishes everyone would act more like him and when they do, he loves it. That all changes however, when they start to take everything away from him that makes him an individual. What’s worse, is that they even start to physically morph into clones of him. In fact, one of his doppelgangers even submits a cartoon to the school paper specifically titled, “Send In The Clones.”
  • Shout-Out: There are several movies playing at the movie theater in the “Doug-verse” including “Wag the Doug,” “Reservoir Dougs,” and “Citizen Doug.” The video store is promoting “Doug Silent Doug Deep” and “Doug Store Cowboy.”
  • Singing in the Shower: Skeeter sings “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain” during his poorly-timed shower.
  • Title of the Dead: Although, this episode focuses on clones rather than zombies.
  • Vehicle Vanish: Doug sees someone who looks exactly like him standing with his back to the street, but he disappears as soon as a truck passes by.
