The Doom Patrol try to prevent the zombie butt apocalypse by finding and destroying the zombie butt that started it all.
- Mercy Kill: Darren Jones pleads Cliff to end his suffering as a zombie by killing him. Cliff refuses to kill Darren while he's defenseless, so Laura forces Cliff's hand by removing his scented helmet, causing Darren to smell Cliff's brain and persuade Cliff to willingly kill Darren.
- Mythology Gag: The Bureau of Normalcy agents Cyborg and Jane impersonate to get the Butt creature captured by the Butt Hunter are named Wolfman and Perez, referencing Marv Wolfman and George Perez, co-creators of the New Teen Titans iteration of Teen Titans where Cyborg made his debut.
- Shout-Out: One of the flashbacks to the history of the Butts imprisoned at the base of the Bureau of Normalcy shows the gluteal creatures performing the song "Shipoopi" from The Music Man.
