Chonies hopes to win a dog-annual robot tournament, and contemplates whether to trust Ed for some... less-than-legal means to end his losing streak. While almost everyone is watching the event, Kira and Garbage put the finishing touches on their secret project.

- Benevolent A.I.: Chonies decides to use Ed's stickers to give his repaired mech Artificial Intelligence in hopes of winning the tournament. Unfortunately, the mech now known as "Cy-Bark" comes to an epiphany mid-match that it's not worth existing just to fight for other people's amusement. He soon convinces Chonies to let him go at the cost of the dog's match.
- Brainwashing for the Greater Good: Kira has Garbage gather components for a miniature version of the genetic enhancer from the sick bay. Once it's complete, they can use it on the other dogs so they can rebel against the humans. While she promises a downplayed example, to affect them just enough to think for themselves, Garbage is still worried about this method.Garbage: Isn't that brainwashing? AKA the second worst kind of washing?
Kira: What's the first kind?
Garbage: Body washing. - Break the Cutie: Chonies when he watches his mech get destroyed.
- Dark Horse Victory: Chonies is forced to abandon his match so his AI-powered mech can live on. Atlas of Team Venus appears to have won once again... until it's revealed that a pilot of Team Jupiter was never eliminated and steals an unexpected victory.
- Gone Horribly Wrong: The mini-enhancer doesn't level down the dogs' minds to rebel against the humans as Kira wanted, but instead robs them of their sapience all together, making them regular dogs.
- Everyone Has Standards: As much as he dislikes Happy, Garbage refuses to turn him into a regular dog.
- He Knows Too Much: When Happy discovers what Kira and Garbage are up to, Kira tells Garbage to use the mini enhancer to change him into a normal dog. Garbage instead disables the device.
- Face–Heel Turn: Kira is fed up with Garbage not caring enough for dogkind and sends him, Happy, and Jerry off the M-Bark via escape pod so she can continue her plans unopposed, now becoming a full antagonist.Kira: You made me think you understood, and now you betrayed me, just like the humans! All of you are too human... but I can fix that.
- Sore Loser: Bernie of Team Earth loses in the first round of the mech fight against Chonies and decides to destroy Chonies' mech after the match was already over.
- Underdogs Never Lose: Downplayed. Being one of the smallest dogs, Chonies usually loses against the slightly taller Atlas, the mech tournament's reigning champion.
- Unfinished, Untested, Used Anyway: After building the mini-enhancer, Kira wants to test it out, but Garbage wants to see Chonies' final match first. Unfortunately, a guarddog named Jerry becomes suspicious and plans to arrest them both. With no other option, Kira tests it out on him. It doesn't work as she hoped.
