This video provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Heroism: While the Magic Mirror was by no means a heroic character in the film he originates from, he's willing to help the kids find what they need to prepare for the Halloween party by providing them with clues.
  • Covers Always Lie:
    • Though the cover depicts Mickey in his Sorcerer's Apprentice outfit from Fantasia, he doesn't wear it in the actual video.
    • The cover also depicts Donald in his standard outfit, but he wears a different outfit in the actual video.
  • Dance Party Ending: The video ends with the kids and Disney characters dancing to "The Monster Mash".
  • Dem Bones: “Spooky Scary Skeletons”; at the end of the song, one of the kids receives a skeleton costume.
  • Foreign Queasine: “Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips”; the Magic Mirror and Goofy enjoy this soup, much to the kids’ displeasure.
  • Foreshadowing: During the “Five Little Pumpkins” song, Sally sings the line “There are witches in the air”; she later gets a witch costume.
  • Halloween Episode: For the Disney Sing Along Songs series as a whole.
  • Stock Footage: "Grim Grinning Ghosts", "Spooky Scary Skeletons", and "Casting My Spell" are all accompanied by clips from various Disney films and shorts. In "Spooky Scary Skeletons"' case, it is mainly accompanied by footage from The Skeleton Dance.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: Sam, Zach, and Sally, the three kids that are given the most focus in this video.
