A friendly Tyrannosaurus Trux named Ty Rux finds himself without a home after his valley is destroyed in a volcano eruption. Upon meeting and befriending a tiny Reptool named Revvit, Ty wonders why Dinotrux can't just all get along and work together instead of only sticking to their own kind. This radical idea turns out to be a lot harder for Trux to accept, and he meets a lot of resistance, especially from resident T-Trux D-Structs, who refuses to share the crater with Ty. Ty and D-Structs start fighting, but considering that D-Structs is bigger and stronger then Ty he beats him without much trouble. After Ty's defeat D-Structs threatens him to leave his crater.
- D-Structs: If you're still here when I come back, I'll turn you into scrap.
- Don't Look Back: Ty pauses for a second during his escape from the volcano to look back on the destruction and mourn the loss of his home, and that gets him hit by a volcanic rock that breaks his tread.
- Doomed Hometown: Ty's home, destroyed by a volcano.
- Dramatic Entrance: D-Structs first makes his appearance by bursting out from the forest and later ferociously roaring.
- The Dreaded:
- The very sight of Ty causes the other Dinotrux to flee by the reputation of him being a T-Trux. However, he's far off from this reputation.
- Just the mere roar of D-Structs causes Revvit to cover in fear.
- Establishing Character Moment:
- Ty makes his first appearance emerging from his cave and making a Mighty Roar that scares all the trux nearby away... only for it to turn out he's actually just making a big goofy yawn and the guy's still half asleep, the rest of his morning routine showing he's far from the big scary monster that the others take him for.
- Later, in the chaos of the volcano eruption, the first thing Ty does is help a child Ankylodump catch up with its parent.
- D-Structs' first instinct upon seeing Ty is to hit him with his wrecking ball tail and order him to leave the crater.
- Ton-Ton shows his Thrill Seeker nature by riding on the wall and later crashing into pile of rocks, while laughing at the top of his lungs.
- Ty makes his first appearance emerging from his cave and making a Mighty Roar that scares all the trux nearby away... only for it to turn out he's actually just making a big goofy yawn and the guy's still half asleep, the rest of his morning routine showing he's far from the big scary monster that the others take him for.
- "Eureka!" Moment: After his first fight with D-Structs Ty decides to leave the crater, but when Revvit while saying goodbye to him recalls that working with him was interesting, Ty gets idea to unite all Dinotrux in the crater to stand up against D-Structs.Ty: You know what? I'm not going anywhere.Revvit: What? But you will have to fight D-Structs every single day! And as we just saw, you cannot beat him.Ty: Maybe not, but this little repair of yours, give me a idea.
- Everyone Meets Everyone
- Feet-First Introduction: As D-Structs rides in direction towards Ty and Revvit, the camera is focused on his treads.
- Fire-Forged Friends: Ty's idea meets with resistance from about everyone, but when Dozer puts up a fight that leads to Dozer falling into a tar pit and everyone pitching in to save him, a group of friends is formed.
- Implied Death Threat: After defeating Ty in fight, D-Structs says this:D-Structs: If you're still here when I come back, I'll turn you into scrap.
- Insistent Terminology: Ty gives Revvit an example of different species working together by pointing out that he fixed his tread. Revvit however says that he was just repaying him for the ore.
- Quicksand Sucks: When Dozer charges at Ty, Ty dodges leading to Dozer failing into tar pit leaving the others to rescue him.
- Smoke Out: When everyone stands up to D-Structs, D-Structs opts to make his escape by slamming his tail into the ground, and vanishing in the dust.
- Tastes Like Friendship: Ty shares his ore with Revvit, Revvit helps repair Ty to thank him. Best friends are formed.
- Tempting Fate: Ty concludes that there's nothing wrong with staying in the crater. Revvit warns him that he's wrong. Cue the ferocious roar...Ty: (scared) Who's that?Revvit: The reason you'd be wrong.
- We Work Well Together: Ty, Revvit, Skya and Ton-Ton work together to quickly build a bridge to save Dozer. Once they have a look at what they accomplished together, they all realize Ty might be on to something.
- You're Insane!: Revvit has this reaction when Ty shares his plans with him.Revvit: You think that Dinotrux and Reptools can work together?Ty: Hey, I'm a surprising guy.Revvit: That's not surprising, it's insane! Dinotrux don't work with each other, then alone with Reptools.
