Recap / Digimon Ghost Game E66 "The Black Dragon of Destruction"

Go To

Picking off from the last episode, the protagonists encounter a BloomLordmon who refuses them entry to meet the one behind the mysterious voice. BloomLordmon challenges them to a battle to drive them away, only for him to easily wipe the floor with all of the protagonist's Digimon as he did with numerous corrupted Digimon before. In a pinch trying to kill the Jet-Black Champion that is Gammamon, GulusGammamon pops up, explains how did he spread the black corrosion around then turns into his Perfect form to fight BloomLordmon. Everything goes worse from here.

  • Batman Gambit: Hiro's digivice picks up a weak signal that Gammamon is still alive inside Regulusmon. The boy gives the evil Digimon exactly what he wants - synchronisation. Though suspicious of this sudden change of heart, the temptation of even more power is too much to pass up and Regulusmon allows it. Energy from Hiro pours, but into Gammamon and not the Jet-Black Champion causing a Battle in the Centre of the Mind. The gamble paid off, but Regulusmon does not take it well.
  • Breaking Old Trends: The Hiro's Study files section is absent, and the opening becomes a recap of the previous episodes.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Siriusmon being mortally injured by Regulusmon. The next episode's preview doesn't sound too hopeful, either.
  • Callback: Riku remembers Meicrackmon when he sees the mass Digimon exodus fleeing the GRB corruption, and realizes Gammamon and her, were not holograms.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Hiro gets hit by this twice. The first time when Regulusmon tells him that Gammamon is dead, and the second time when Regulusmon baits Siriusmon into attacking him and counters with a potentially lethal attack. He does not take Gammamon's seeming death lightly, and in particular, after Regulusmon seemingly fatally injures Siriusmon, his subsequent response is to stay completely still with an empty face.
  • Mysterious Watcher: A mysterious Digimon with a girl's voice is spectating the fight between the protagonists and Regulusmon.
  • Plaguemaster: According to GulusGammamon, he dropped a puddle of Gulus Realm Burst particles when inside Gammamon and even before he enters the human world. Said puddle spread within the course of more than a year and degenerated into a calamity threatening to destroy the Digital World. Furthermore, he did this willingly (or at least he intended it to happen) rather than unconsciously spreading it like Tri's Meicoomon did.
