Recap / Diagnosis: Murder S3E9 "Living on the Streets Can Be Murder"

Go To

An investigation into the death of a homeless woman reveals her liver was stolen, and she is not the only homeless person who has been used for organs lately. Mark snoops around with the help of a homeless man named Walter Mason.

"Living on the Streets Can Be Murder" displays symptoms of the following tropes:

  • Disposable Vagrant: Multiple homeless people are killed across Los Angeles in order to steal their organs.
  • It's Personal: Walter initially doesn't pay Mark any mind. However, the moment that Walter hears about his close friend Patsy having been murdered, he doesn't hesitate to collaborate with Mark in order to catch the culprit responsible for this.
  • Organ Theft: Homeless people in Los Angeles are being murdered to steal their organs for wealthy people.
  • Riches to Rags: Walter used to be a wealthy account executive with an advertising firm. Then the new owners kicked out all the employees older than them, his wife got sick while he couldn't find a job, then they had to sell everything they had to pay for her treatments, and then she died. That was pretty much where he caved in.
  • Skipping School: According to Steve, the body at the beginning of the episode was found by 2 kids, and it "scared them back into school".
