At a party hosted by wealthy businessman Robert Stanton, a woman comes barging in. Evidently, this woman is his girlfriend Marilyn Kramer, who is none too pleased about him trying to kick her out of the condo he bought her. Very equally unpleased with the man is his dear wife Irene, who is... miffed about the fact that he still hasn't sold the condo. Later that night, as she is preparing herself to kick Robert's sorry butt out, Marilyn arrives once again, this time shooting Robert square in the chest.
Irene is shocked, but not as much as one would be, as she and Marilyn have been planning this murder for some time. The two grit their teeth and work together to ditch Robert's corpse.
"Woman Trouble" displays symptoms of the following tropes:
- Blackmail: Two instances in the episode, both of which are revealed to be crocks.
- Once Robert is shot, Marilyn tries to squeeze Irene for millions before she leaves town.
- The two are later approached by the owner of a bait and tackle shop near the lake they dumped his body in and demands $500,000 to keep quiet about it, showing Robert's ring as proof.
- Fright Deathtrap: The whole episode turns out to have been an elaborate one to kill Irene, as Robert "springs to life" when Irene investigates his body.
- Love Makes You Dumb: Steve decides to shower his new girlfriend in luxury as she thinks he is a philanthropist. He goes so far as to rent a limo to take her to Las Vegas. She was well aware he didn't really have money.
- Medication Tampering: In order to ensure Irene's heart attack, he made a call to her doctor to lower the dosage on her heart medications.
- Private Detective: Steve explains that Peter doesn't actually run the bait shop, but is a PI Robert and Marilyn roped into playing the part.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: The episode has Irene and Marilyn working together to kill Robert and get away with it despite how very much they don't like each other. Ultimately subverted, as Marilyn is actually trying to kill Irene.
