Kirkman announces his decision to run for election. Emily has quit her job and is spending time with her mother, who is battling ovarian cancer. Aron's girlfriend is worried about the situation in Puerto Rico. Hannah Wells is fired from the FBI after murdering a terrorist in the UK in the previous season and almost immediately gets a job offer from the CIA.

Tropes

• Malaproper/Running Gag: People guess at what the expression "in the barral" means. Mars thinks it refers to the barrel of a gun, while Emily has Houdini associations and thinks it refers to going over a metaphorical waterfall. Lyor thinks it refers to fish in a barrel, which are easy to shoot.
• Precision F-Strike: Lorraine drops an F-bomb in front of the President, establishing that they're on Netflix now and they can do that.
• Title Drop: Kirkman dropped it during the State of the Union.
• Too Much Information: Seth learns the origin of the expression "in the barrel"; turns out it refers to an old-timey punishment of public humiliation. He wishes he had let it go earlier.
