Recap / Dennis The Menace 1986 S 1 E 40

Go To

The fortieth episode of the first season of Dennis the Menace (1986).

Give a Little Whistle

Dennis receives a whistle from a neighbor, but it turns out to be a dog whistle that gets unwanted attention when it's blown as dogs from a nearby dog show hear it and go after Mr. Wilson. To get rid of them, Dennis makes Mr. Wilson sacrifice the steak he just bought from the butcher.

Charmed I'm Sure

It's Friday the 13th, and Dennis worries about bad luck until Mr. Wilson gives him a nickel to get him out of his hair. But when Dennis starts to have good luck with it, as does Margaret, they begin to think it's a lucky charm, and Mr. Wilson wants to get it back. When he does, his luck still doesn't go well and he gives it back to Dennis. But that turned out to be a premature decision as Margaret's father called to offer to buy the coin for a hundred dollars to his utter shock. Dennis is relieved at the end of the day of his good luck, but Margaret wants him to take her to the ballet show she had gotten with her good luck!

After Hours

After Dennis and his father get stuck in a department store elevator, they later realize they're locked in after the store has closed. Various mishaps occur as they try to ride out the night, including the sounding of the fire alarm. A security officer is alerted and arrests Henry under suspicion he broke into the store. But Dennis tells him not to take him to jail yet as his father hasn't yet bought him a gift for being good!
