NOTICE: This is a Recap page, so all spoilers will be left unmarked, per wiki policy. Read ahead only with caution! You Have Been Warned.

When the aliens invade a thousands years from now, our last hope will inevitably be placed in the hands of a lone space marine like the super soldier Master Chief, and Doomguy, the bane of Hell itself.

Master Chief: At the age of 6, John-117 was abducted by the USNC to be part of the SPARTAN-II. At the age of 14, he received physical augmentation, making his bones and muscles stronger, and his mind and senses sharper. John then led a 30 year campaign against several enemies, the Insurrection, the Covenant, and the Flood.

He is protected by Mark IV Mjolnir armor, which has a regenerating energy shield and enhances his already incredible abilities. His weaponry includes the M60 Magnum, which can send 12.7 mm bullets 400 feet away, the M7 submachine gun, and the M9 grenade. His standard firearms include assault rifles and shotguns, and for heavy weaponry he has a rocket launcher, a powerful laser, and sniper rifle.

However, Chief can only carry a few of these weapons on him at a time, but he has an array of power-ups and special equipment such as the Bubble Shield, which protects him from all projectiles. He also has alien weaponry, the most notable of which is the sticky plasma grenade and an energy sword which can block bullets.

In the end, Chief is a true badass. He has taken down 3 different armies on multiple occasions, can run 50 MPH, has fallen from orbit, and prevented galactic genocide...twice.

Doomguy: The original, ass kicking, demon slaying, first person shooter badass. After disobeying his commanding officer, he was transferred to Mars, which happened to contain a gateway to Hell, and the butt-kicking began.

He wears the Mega Armor, a combat suit twice as strong as normal security armor with a non regenerating shield that can endure dozens of normally fatal plasma blasts. Doomguy's greatest asset is his huge arsenal, carried all in his backpack. His weapons include a pistol, a chainsaw, a chaingun, a shotgun that has a range and spread so ridiculous he doesn't have to aim, and the super shotgun, an upgraded version of that. He also wields a plasma gun and a rocket launcher. However, his best weapon is the BFG 9000, which fires huge blobs of plasma that explode upon impact. He also has the even more powerful Unmaker, but since it requires demonic energy to fire, it won't be used against MC.

Though Doomguy is no super soldier, his abilities can be increased to superhuman levels with power-ups, which can make him stronger, invulnerable, and make him invisible. He has defeated Hell 5 times and can run 57 MPH.

after an ad for Square Space, IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE.

FIGHT!

Master Chief opens fire with an assault rifle. Doomguy begins to return fire, rapidly switching weapons as he marches toward Chief, who gets behind cover. A barrage of rockets destroys Chief's cover, but he leaps and doges more incoming rockets, even catching a rocket and hurling it back at Doomguy. Chief throws a small buggy at Doomguy and picks up an energy sword and an invisibility power up.

Chief appears behing Doomguy, who opens fire with the chaingun. The bullets bounce harmlessly off the Mjolnir armor, but a shotgun blast throws Chief to the ground. Doomguy uses an invincibility power-up . Chief fires at Doomguy to no effect, but the power up wears off and Doomguy is hit with a shot from the sniper rifle. Doomguy fires a shot from the BFG 9000 at Chief, creating a green explosion when it lands. However, a plasma grenade flies out of the explosion and lands on Doomguy, who can only barely express his shock before he's blown up. As the green explosion subsides, it is revealed that Chief deployed the Bubble Shield. Chief walks up and teabags Doomguy's corpse.

K.O.!

While Doomguy may have had a more destructive arsenal his weapons lack versatility. Chief can take more punishment than Doomguy with his superior armor and regenerating shields, and he has superior training and faster reflexes. And while defeating Hell sounds awe-inspiring, Doomguy's enemies aren't that different than Chief's.

Boomstick: This fight was nuts.
Wiz: The winner is the Master Chief.

Master Chief vs. Doomguy contains examples of:

  • Always Someone Better: Doomguy's reputation as a One-Man Army is well-earned in his home series, but Chief was just simply too powerful an opponent for him to rip and tear, outclassing him in raw power, skills, experience and weaponry.
  • One-Man Army: The defining theme of this episode - two soldiers who've taken on and defeated entire armies.
