NOTICE: This is a Recap page, so all spoilers will be left unmarked, per wiki policy. Read ahead only with caution! You Have Been Warned.

Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, kings of the fighting genre, and every good fighting game needs awesome villains, like Akuma, the ultimate badass of martial arts, and Shang Tsung, the sorcerer's vanguard of doom.

Akuma: Master of the fist. He is a living weapon, 10 times stronger than any other street fighter. He has dozens of powerful special attacks. Some notable ones are the Gou Hadoken, a chargeable and controllable energy ball, and the Zanku Hadoken, a very powerful energy ball.

He also has a leaping uppercut called the Guo Shoryuken, a kick where he spins around, and can teleport. His most powerful attacks include the Kongo Kokuretsu Zan, which seemingly makes the ground explode, and the Shun Goku Satsu, a move that at full power kills a person.

Akuma lives for only one thing only: fighting. He has only lost once (to his brother Goken), but he later killed his better in a rematch. However, he has one huge weakness: his stamina and defense are poor. He can dish it out but can't take it, and his extremely offensive style requires total control of the battlefield.

Akuma: I am Akuma, and I will teach you the meaning of pain.

Shang Tsung: Shang Tsung hails from Outworld and scheming pawn of Shao Kahn. He's extremely adept in magic and a well-rounded fighter. He can shoot flaming skulls and can teleport. But his arguable best ability is the ability to morph into anyone he knows (complete with their skills and moves), enabling hundreds of viable strategies.

Though he prefers fists over swordplay, he has a sword. He also has a strange but useful ability: long ago when he was caught cheating in the Mortal Kombat tournament, he was cursed by the Elder Gods to age rapidly, and the only way to prevent death is to absorb the souls of his victims, which heals him and enables him to use their skills and abilities.

Shang Tsung has lived and fought for a thousand years. His powers of sorcery and brutal fatalities are rivaled by few, and he has claimed the title "Grand Champion of Mortal Kombat" several times.

However, despite his power, his only notable victories have required trickery and treachery.

Shang Tsung: *pointing off camera* You...will...die!

After an ad for Game Fly, IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!

FIGHT!

Shang shoots a flaming skull at Akuma, who easily dodges it by leaping over the skull. He fires a few Guo Hadokens, landing in front of the ground in front of his opponent, where he follows up with a spinning kick and a Guo Shoryuken. He leaps up and continues his combo in the air, which is finished with a Zanku Hadoken.

Shang is on the ground, and just as Akuma is about to deliver a killing blow, Shang morphs into Scorpion, causing Akuma to stop (he wanted to see if his new form would be a challenge). He reels in Akuma with a knife on a rope, punches him into the air, and then follows up with a few fireballs which come out of the ground.

Akuma recovers, however, and throws Shang several feet away. He tries to go in for more damage but ends up being cut by Shang's sword when Shang teleports out of the way of his attacks. Shang absorbs some of Akuma's soul, draining Akuma's health while raising his.

Akuma performs the Kongo Kokuretsu Zan and follows up with a few strikes. Shang morphs into Akuma and the two begin to pummel each other in the air, before Shang punches Akuma to the ground. Shang gets ready to perform the Kongo Kokuretsu Zan, but Akuma rushes in and does the Shun Goku Satsu first.

K.O.!

The hosts speculate that Akuma's raw power and speed pressed a distinct advantage early on, but Shang's versatile skills soon evened the odds. In the end, however, Akuma's skill as a fighter proved unmatched.

Boomstick: Looks like Tsung's all souled out.
Wiz: The winner is Akuma.
