Back from the Dead: The squad's goal is to do this with Barney. They succeed at the end after a lot of effort.
Barred from the Afterlife: The ghosts that Barney meets have been haunting the place for years, unable to move on to the afterlife without confronting their issues or getting what they've always wanted. They try to manipulate him into moving on in the hope that they can hitch a ride with him.
Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: The other ghosts clearly have their own agenda in trying to pass onto the afterlife and prey on Barney's insecurities to try to get there. In addition, Fingers, though he's put on a friendly face all season, shows his true colors when he reveals that he knew the chandelier would drop on Barney and let it happen so that he could secure a deal with Pugsley.
Deal with the Devil: Well... deal with the angel, but same general concept nonetheless all things considered. Pugsley makes one with Fingers to resurrect Barney.
Despair Event Horizon: Barney begins to cross it when his friends are no longer able to perceive him and his self-esteem causes him to believe that his friends don't value him or believe in him. He nearly gives in until Logs gets the seance kit and they proceed to call out to him and summon back his ghost.
Five Stages of Grief: Barney goes through this in light of his death. Unlike most examples, however, progressing through the stages is portrayed as a bad thing, as it causes Barney to become more detached from his friends and less perceivable by them and progresses him further into passing onto the other side.
How We Got Here: The episode shows how we got to the end of the last episode.
Slasher Smile: Fingers flashes one when he reveals that he knew that Barney would be killed by the chandelier and let it happen to make the deal with Pugsley and when he takes Pugsley to level 4.
Sudden Downer Ending: Almost immediately after Barney is resurrected, Fingers shows up to escort Pugsley to level 4 to ensure that the dog holds up his end of the bargain, leaving his friends behind.
