Darkwing accidentally interferes with the shooting of a movie, and production seems to be cursed when the lead actor is taken out of commission in an accident. In an attempt to crack the case, Darkwing visits a local movie lot.
This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
- Disguised in Drag: During one scene, Darkwing and Launchpad are crossing different movie sets while having a conversation about the case, disguising themselves as actors on each set. One set is shooting a love scene, and the shorter Darkwing winds up playing the female lead, complete with dress and blonde wig.
- Hidden in Plain Sight: Darkwing and Launchpad cross several different movie sets without being noticed by stepping into the poses and costumes of the actors doing each scene.
- Iris Out: The group debates how to end the movie — The Diva wanted it to end on her face, another suggests a ride into the sunset — and Launchpad says a circle getting smaller until everything is black as the perfect way to end it. Guess how they ended the episode?
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Gosalyn gives Darkwing a pouty face while begging to stay and watch the filming. He gives in.
- Real After All: As it turns out, there really was a Phantom haunting the studio and it was one of Gloria's ex-husbands.
- Running Gag: Nobody can get A.F. Erret's name right.
- Shout-Out: The title refers to an obscure thriller called Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte.
- Wily Walrus: Tuskerninni, a walrus director, is the antagonist of the story.
