Produced 2005, aired in U.S. on 7/23/05

Production order: 23 (2-3)

Amity Park is under attack by... lame, droning, boring music. Every radio station, every adult in town is constantly playing the same new tune, which none of the teenagers can stand. Things get weirder when everyone's parents (and Jazz), without warning, leave word they're going on an impromptu cruise. While Tucker and Sam start their own radio station to get some real music back on the airwaves, Danny goes to investigate the cruise. It's not long before they learn it's all a trap by Ember and a new ghost named Youngblood, using her music to hypnotize adults this time into serving as galley-like slaves on his ghost ship. Unfortunately for Danny, they also stole his parents' ghost shield generator to surround the ship with a ghost shield — there's no way he can get through in ghost form. If he wants to get aboard to save his parents, his sister, and the rest of the town's adults, he'll have to do so as a human. Which means he'll need to convince all his classmates who have constantly looked down on him to help him.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Brought Down to Normal: Danny can't use his powers because of the ghost shield.
  • …But He Sounds Handsome: Danny Phantom tells Paulina he thinks Danny Fenton would be a great guy for her.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Dash and Paulina get concerned when the ghost pirates grab their parents.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Sam and Tucker call their radio station the PARTY — Providing Alternative Radio To You.
  • Idiot Ball:
    Sam: M. Bersback... Ember's back! That's not a clue, that's a billboard.
Tucker: We really have to start paying attention to these things.
  • Parents in Distress: All the Amity Park Parents get kidnapped by the ghost pirates led by Youngblood and Ember, forcing Danny to rally his classmates to get them back.
  • Pirate Girl: Ember for this episode only.
  • Reset Button: Dash and the others lose their newfound respect for Danny Fenton because he "abandon[ed] us in the middle of a fight" when Danny Phantom showed up...
  • Sue Donym: M. Bersback.
  • Supernatural Repellent: All ghost shields serve as this, but this episode probably has the biggest headache they cause Danny.
  • Trojan Prisoner: Danny has Tucker disguised as an old man and sends him out to get captured so he can deactivate the ship's ghost shield.
  • Villain Team-Up: Ember and Youngblood team up over their mutual hatred of adults.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: Has the same premise as the Nickelodeon movie Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
  • Wild Teen Party: Dash and Kwan get a hold of one of Sam's and Tucker's PARTY fliers and get the wrong idea. This leads to a wild party at Danny's house without him knowing about it and without anyone intending to throw it.
