A psychotic serial killer who hears voices (Frederick Koehler) rapes and murders women. He works as a chef, mixing human remains into restaurant food. Later his identical twin gets arrested in his stead, throwing a wrench into the BAU's investigation.

Tropes in this episode

  • Antagonist Title: Wallace is the title "Inspiration".
  • Banging for Help: The opening victim is Bound and Gagged on the floor and and uses her legs to make noise, attracting the neighbors below. Unfortunately, the killer arrives and gives an excuse to the neighbor about the noise.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with the UnSub getting released, because the fingerprints don't fit, and then the viewers learning this because he has an identical twin.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: The UnSub forces his victims to eat flesh from the head of his first victim.
  • In Medias Res: The episode starts with a scene of Morgan and JJ in a car chase, almost getting hit by a truck. Then it jumps back a few days.
