- Con Man: Discussed. They all agree that the city of Las Vegas is a magnet for these.
- Continuity Nod: Reid mentions that his mother used to write him a letter every day, which he also mentioned in the first season finale.
- Everyone Has Standards: Marvin draws the line at liars. He is a thief and a killer, but not a liar.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Marvin programmed Cesar neurolinguistically to be suggestible to anything he told him, which Reid exploits to get information from him.
