- Cover Identity Anomaly: Prentiss's attempt to play as an acquaintance of the UnSub fails when she mentions a boyfriend, since he always picked husbands for swinger parties with his wife.
- Eunuchs Are Evil: The UnSub lost his prostate during a routine surgery gone wrong.
- Men Are the Expendable Gender: All of the eight victims at the Swinger's Party massacre were men, with all the women surviving unharmed despite there either being more women or a 50/50 ratio. In this case, the killer explicitly has a grudge against other men, but treats the women as an afterthought.
