Forget-Me-Knots

To fix his marriage Elias, using his original name Lee, finds a woman who resembles his wife in appearance and personality, kidnaps her, and forces her to participate in a role playing game to find out how his wife will react to him telling her the truth. Meanwhile, law enforcement in Raleigh, North Carolina, have found DNA from at least four murder victims in the house of the deceased Cyrus LeBrun, and request the BAU's help. Tara figures out that it's likely that Lee killed his own parents as a child.

Tropes

  • Artistic License – Gun Safety: Elias scratches his head with the mouth of a loaded gun. With his finger on the trigger.
  • Blatant Lies: Garcia claims she's acting weird because of work stress, convincing Rossi that it's definitely not work stress.
  • Bond Villain Stupidity: Arthur just leaves Ramona hanging there, even after Sicarius told him to get rid of her. Granted, it seems to take a few hours, but Sicarius didn't mean "kill her in a few hours".
  • Call-Back: Garcia lets Rossi know that how it used to be, with her saying it will take time to narrow things down and him saying they don't have time and then she saves the day anyway, will happen again.
  • Captain Obvious: When Ramona wails that she doesn't want to die, Sicarius replies that no one does.
  • CPR: Clean, Pretty, Reliable: Luke doesn't have to spend long reviving Ramona. Granted, it's implied that she just died, but still.
  • Double-Meaning Title: Besides being a reference to the UnSub of the week, whose internet name is ForgetMeNot and his proclivity for tying people up so they end up killing themselves, the title is a reference to Sicarius making Ramonda pretend to forget what he looks like, and him using her to solve problems in his marriage.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: David at first struggles to understand what Sicarius is doing with his pocket in the security footage. Upon seeing their current victim's husband ignoring a phone call, he quickly puts together that his wife was trying to reach him and is eventually able to track her down by gathering a list of calls made around the time posted in the footage.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: Henry happens to walk back into the house to get a textbook he left in the hall just as his parents discuss the most prolific serial killer and Will's recent cancer scare in the adjacent room.
  • Suicide by Cop: How Arthur Kiel chooses to go, though it saddens him.
