War has come.
As Jack and the player meet with Ogedei Khan at the Great Wall of China, they are informed that the explorer Santiago Sanchez has been murdered. Khan is on the brink of slaughtering the Chinese, but gives the team the chance to solve the murder. The team knows they are on a tightrope, as if the culprit is revealed to be the Chinese, Khan is sure to slaughter them all, especially with his modern weapons. Nonetheless, the team press on, finding Sanchez beaten to death on top of the Great Wall.Tropes
- Bludgeoned to Death: Sanchez had his head beaten in with a weapon known as a meteor hammer
. - Destructive Romance: As it turns out, the princess had fallen in love with Santiago, which is why Theo was fading. If they married, she never would get together with his correct ancestor.
- Don't Celebrate Just Yet: Even after stopping Ammon, Orlando informs everyone they can't just return to the present: with all the changes to the timeline that's been done, there's no telling if the present will still be the one they remember. He then proposes a risky solution: they would go back to Ancient Egypt and arrest Ammon and Nebet before they even put their plans in motion, which will hopefully negate everything they've ever done.
- One of Our Own: Kai gets flagged as a suspsect.
- Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Ogedei is outraged that Ammon tricked him with Santiago's murder.Ogedei: Nobody betrays the Khan and lives!
- Slashed Throat: Ogedei introduces Ammon's neck to the business end of his sword after finding out he was the killer.
