Capitol Peak is the tenth and final district investigated in Criminal Case: Mysteries of the Past.Set six months after Justin Lawson's inauguration as Mayor, Capitol Peak focuses on showing how deeply Lawson's regime and his quest to get rid of crime has affected the city Concordia, which has turned into a tyrannical dystopia where no one is safe: a private militia controls the city and performs arrests even for the tiniest offenses, freedom of press has been abolished and replaced by a single government-controlled newspaper, the death penalty has been reinstated, citizens are growing more and more impoverished due to ridiculous fines, and the police department are nothing but puppets for the growingly extremist mayor.
It's up to the Flying Squad and La Résistance to end his reign of terror... but this war will come at a cost.

- Arc Villain: Mayor Justin Lawson, who undergoes a Big Bad Slippage and becomes a ruthless dictator after witnessing first-handed the consequences of unrepentant police corruption, violent Mob Wars, and the Rochester family fueling all of these problems for their own gain over the course of the storyline, becoming the Final Boss of the season with the defeat of the aforementioned Big Bad Shuffle.
- Bittersweet Ending: Mayor Lawson is stopped for good and, under Lady Highmore's rulership as the interim mayor of Concordia, free press is restored, the Justice Corps are dismantled, and Giulietta, Enzo, and Adelia await for new, fairer trials than they ones they received under Lawson's regime (with the latter even possibly getting pardon for her crime), returning peace back to the city and starting a new chapter for its citizens. However, all of this comes at the cost of Charlie's life and Diego's freedom and friendship to the rest of the Squad. Despite this, Maddie eventually makes peace with Diego and promises to plead in his behalf during his trial, and Diego prepares to live out his punishment for killing Charlie in peace.

- Non-Indicative Name: Despite the district apparently being a real location in the center of Concordia, none of the characters actually ever acknowledge the existence of Capitol Peak nor call it by its name in the first place (something that never happened with another district before), and most of the cases take place in locations you've already been in previous districts, such as Lady Highmore's manor, the Crystal Palace, or the courthouse. The only location you visit which seems to be confirmed to be in Capitol Peak is the Concordia Tower, and that's only because you can clearly see it on the map.
- La Résistance: The Flying Squad becomes part of one being lead by Giulietta Capecchi over the course of the district, fighting against Lawson's tyrannical regime from it.
