Gordon Michelli, a construction company director, is found murdered in one of his own sites... Jesus Christ-style.

- Asshole Victim: Gordon Michelli was greedy, did half-assed jobs for the sake of saving money, exploited his workers, and even destroyed the oldest church in Grimsborough just for another one of his projects. No one ever mourns for him or feels sad for his death during the entire case.
- Back-Alley Doctor. Dr. Bishop, who after losing his medical license now works illegally on a custom office.
- I Can't Believe I'm Saying This: Jones after defending Ramirez from Nikolay's insults.Jones: I can't believe I just took Ramirez's defense. Oh, stop laughing, <Player's name>!
- Continuity Nod: The third floor of the police station from the previous case reappears as a crime scene, only at night.
- Crazy Homeless People: Linda Lovara, who lives in an abandoned car park, is known to get violent when high on a mixture of alcohol and prescription pills, and to make matters worse, had a therapist who encouraged her craziness.
- Crucified Hero Shot: How the victim is found, wooden cross and all.
- Drinking on Duty: One of the reasons why Bishop lost his medical license. Apparently, he believed that offering whiskey to his patients would help them heal faster.
- The Fundamentalist: Dr. Bishop. Apart from believing that The Bible was the answer for helping people with psychological problems, he also killed Gordon as a form of "divine punishment" for destroying a church, seeing himself as the only one capable of making him pay for his sins.
- Grievous Bottley Harm: Linda Lovara was arrested in the past for doing this to a police officer.
- Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: Dr. Bishop. He actually had a medical license... until he lost it due to malpractice, so now he's forced to work as a Back-Alley Doctor.

- Psycho Psychologist: Dr. Bishop. Despite being a (admittedly fired) psychologist, it's clear that this guy is even more of a nutso than his patients, to the point he ends up killing Gordon because he genuinely believes he's an agent from God with the right to punish him for his sins.

- A Taste of the Lash: According to his killer, Gordon flogged himself to atone for his Greed and having a church destroyed.
- Linda, one of the suspects, was also detained in the past for drunkenly lashing herself in the middle of the street, then smashing a whiskey bottle on an officer's head.
