Kit has a bad report card and is forced to close the Trading Tree until fall. The Creek enters a famine, which is the perfect opportunity for King Xavier to step in with his free candy.

Tropes:

  • All for Nothing: All the years Omar spent stopping King Xavier and his forces from coming over to their side of the creek is for naught thanks to the Council of the Creek voting for Xavier to come over with his snacks. After the Counsel made their decision, Omar walks off in defeat since he can't do anything.
  • Call-Back:
    • The kids have another soda bottle boat race with Sailor Boy hosting like they did back in "You're It".
    • When it comes to voting to accept King Xavier's help, the Sewer Queen, Cannonball, and Jason (the only kids who heeds Craig's warning back in "The Rise and Fall of the Green Poncho") vote against King Xavier. Wildernessa made it look like she's voting for Xavier but changes it at the last second thanks to her experience with Craig back in "Breaking the Ice".
  • Decided by One Vote: Craig counts the votes for and against letting King Xavier into their side of the Creek and brags that since the votes are tied, he doesn't win. But then Bobby, who had been encouraging Craig up to this point, votes for Xavier.
Omar: I guess one vote really can make a difference...
  • Did Not Think This Through: J.P. brought ice pops and ice-cream to the Stump; unfortunately, he had it inside his clothes, and it naturally melted on the way.
  • Downer Ending: After Craig fails to save the Trading Tree and Kit has to attend summer school due to her bad grades, King Xavier is able to spread his influences to their side of the creek due to a majority of the Council of the Creek voting for his help to supply them with snacks and the Stump Trio and the Green Poncho can't do anything to stop it.
    Craig: The Creek is doomed.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Craig is shocked that Bobby, who usually idolizes him, casts the deciding vote to let Xavier into their side of the creek.
  • The Famine: After Kit is forced to close up shop along with the kids being unable to provide their own snacks, the Creek begins to fall apart as the children lose their energy and begin to turn on one another.
  • Meat-O-Vision: As the Stump Trio grow hungrier, Craig sees Mortimor and J.P. as a Choco-Roll and an orange soda, respectively (J.P. asks to be cherry instead), while Kelsey sees Craig as a bag of Spicy Beefers.
  • Mood Whiplash: The episode starts with the Stump Trio having a fun time with the boat competition and even winning the prize of free Trading Tree snacks thanks to Sailor Boy. Things take a turn for the worse when they get there and Kit reveals her conundrum.
  • Nothing Personal: Among the council members who voted for King Xavier's help is Wren, who looks saddened by her decision. She apologizes to Craig and tells him it's nothing personal, it just seems logical.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: While trying to help Kit with her granny, Craig accidentally gives her grandma the idea to send Kit to summer school.
  • Summer School Sucks: Kit, usually a straight-A student, gets a bad report card and has nothing to show to her grandma to get goods for the Trading Tree. Craig tells her grandma not to send her to summer school, but she hadn't even thought of it and does so immediately. Kit's absence leads not only to a famine, but King Xavier taking advantage of it to conquer their side of the Creek — and it's revealed the next episode that he sabotaged Kit's report card to do it, meaning she got sent to summer school for nothing. Come "Beyond the Overpass", Kit resents Craig for inadvertedly making her miss out on the summer, and she hired Raj & Shawn as her new suppliers to ensure it never happens again.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Bobby's paper boat turns to mush instantly when he puts it in the river.
  • Token Evil Teammate: By her own admission, Eliza is this in the Council of the Creek:
Craig: This is the King that me and the Green Poncho warned you all about! We can't let him into our side, he's just trying to give us snacks so we'll trust him! He's evil!
Eliza: So am I. Who cares? We're hungry, Craig.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Craig stands up for Bobby when the Forest Scouts try to exclude his paper sailboat in a bottle boat race. He ends up prioritizing his Sweet Tooth over his friendship with Craig by letting the kids of the Other Side in.
