After donning a brand new jersey, J.P. is recruited by the Hockey Kids! The only way to get J.P. back is for Craig and Kelsey to hit the ice!
Tropes:
- Clothing Damage: The plot starts when J.P.'s sleeves are ripped off, requiring him to get a new jersey.
- Hockey Fight: The Hockey Kids like to roughhouse with each other.
- Homage: To Roch Carrier’s "The Hockey Sweater", with J.P. getting a blue and white hockey jersey instead of his usual red and white jersey (in this case, the jersey of a fictional Vancouver team). The colors of this jersey are based on the Toronto Maple Leafs’ colors, while the number 9 is a reference to French-Canadian hockey player Maurice Richard. The in-universe Vancouver player that bears the number 9 is named after the author.
- Pun-Based Title: Americans in the audience will get it.
- The Reveal: J.P. and Laura's dad is living in Montreal with a woman named Amanda, who appear to be living together.
- Status Quo Is God: In the end, J.P.'s father sends him a new jersey that looks just like his old one.
