Craig tries to figure out how an ancient war that decimated the Creek began in hopes of stopping history from repeating itself.
Tropes:
- Anguished Declaration of Love: J.P. finds a heartfelt love confession in a letter by one of the Creek ancients lamenting the Capture the Flag war. Everyone present is driven to tears over it.
- Cave Behind the Falls: The earliest Creek kids used the creek itself as a delivery system for messages in bottles, keeping them in mailboxes behind the waterfall the Ninja Kids hang out at in the present.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: As rude and antagonistic as Jason can be, he would've been happy to let them into his backyard to gain access to the Game Masters' Vault if they had simply told him about the Ancient Creek War.
- Creepy Doll: When the Stump kids dig up the Ten Speeds' ramp, they find the remains of an old puppet theater. J.P. finds the puppets and asks to switch sides.
- Friend-or-Idol Decision: When the treetop platform collapses, Craig has to choose between saving Jason or the notebook.
- Shout-Out: To The Civil War when J.P. reads the old letter, with The Ken Burns Effect on a sepia tone photo of J.P. in Civil War era uniform.
- The Unreveal: The notebook about the capture the flag war is destroyed before Craig can read about what caused it.
- War Is Hell: Upon hearing about the 'Capture the Flag' war, Jason finds it cool. Kelsey derides him by saying he knows nothing of war.
