- Halfway Plot Switch: Starts as a Faux-To Guide, then gets distracted by Craig and Kelsey thinking Mortimor and J.P. were gone before returning to the guide at the end.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: After the convoluted rescue of J.P. and Mortimor, the only thing Craig ends up actually mapping is a random tire swing he notices.
