It's time for the Delightful Children from Down the Lane's birthday party again, and they're having a cake to end all cake. Before taking on the dangerous mission, Sector V visits the Alamode to pay their respects to a long, tragic mission to the KND history. Coincidentally, the last known KND operative from that time is found and unfrozen, and is believed to have ties to a delicious cake recipe...

Tropes:

  • Bait-and-Switch: After Numbuh 5 explains that he's now in the future due to getting frozen, Numbuh Nineteenth Century wonders how this could happen. It appears he's wondering how he ended up in the future, but when Numbuh 5 begins to explain, he reveals he was actually wondering about when girls became members of the Kids Next Door.
  • Balloon Belly: During the end credits, it's shown that Numbuh 4 ate so much that this happened to him. He groans in discomfort and remarks he ate too much, only to see more within arm's reach and immediately chow down.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Numbuh 19th Century and Numbuh 86.
  • Big "NO!": Father after losing Gran-Gran's beloved recipe once and for all.
  • Bring It: Father when challenging Numbuh 1 to a duel.
  • Call-Back: Father consistently addresses Numbuh 1 as "Mr. Uno" during their interactions.
  • Corner of Woe: Father goes sulking when he believes he's not invited to the "party" at the prison block.
  • Curse Cut Short: Happens at one point:
Abby: Allow me to kick you in the...
    [cut to next scene]
Chef Pierre: But it has to be there.
  • Distant Prologue: Just before the opening, we get a glimpse of KND from decades ago in the Cold Open standing like an army in front of a house. We then see a young operative (Numbuh 19th Century) accidentally trigger an ice cream explosion from inside the house.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Father initially mistakes Numbuh 19th Century for a girl, due to the longer hair and his attire. Given his attitude about girls, Numbuh 19th Century is deeply insulted by this.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Father and Numbuh 86 take the piss out of this with Numbuh 19th Century.
  • The Guards Must Be Crazy: Or else they wouldn't buy a story about a party being held in the prison block. Or that they'd recognize the bouncer at the "gate" as a kid, since she wasn't even in disguise!
  • History Repeats: Like in "Operation E.N.D.", an operative tries to use Numbuh 86's feelings for him as a get-out-of-decommisioning ticket, only for her to instantly rebuff him.
  • Human Popsicle: Numbuh 19th Century, among hundreds of other KND operatives from the Alamode incident, were trapped in frozen ice cream.
  • Irony: Father believes that the Kids Next Door sent Numbuhs 86 and 19th Century in an attempt to steal the cake, when they actually learned about it by complete accident.
  • Level Ate: Father's giant ice cream cake is so massive, it functions as a giant satellite. At one point, Numbuh 2 advises the other Kids Next Door to do a Dungeon Bypass by eating through the floor, which Numbuh 19th Century wonders is healthy.
  • Little "No": Father when he sees the recipe is "smudgifiying" before his eyes.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: After the KND Orbital Ice Cream Storage Facility is destroyed, Numbuh 5 doubles over and says she can sense the sudden loss of a million gallons of ice cream.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Father's Hair-Trigger Temper and its accompanying flames does almost as much damage to the cake as the Kids Next Door do, and eventually it causes him to smear and ruin the copy of the cake recipe on Numbuh 19th Century's chest. Chef Pierre even calls him out on it at one point.
  • Not So Above It All: Father joins Numbuh 86 in laughing at Numbuh 19th Century not knowing what a television and cartoons are. Later, when the mooks leave to go to a supposed party, Father loudly insists he gave no permission for such a thing before glumly complaining about not being invited and saying he likes to party now and then.
  • Old-School Chivalry: One of Numbuh 19th Century's better traits, which is what finally endears him to Numbuh 86.
  • Politically Correct History: Played with, as while Numbuh 19th Century does have outdated views on girls, he notably makes no comment about the French-African Numbuh 5 outside of her gender, even though she would have likely been enslaved during his time.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: Numbuh 19th Century. He doesn't hate girls, he just has outdated views about how they should act.
  • Pressure Point: Numbuh 3 tries twice to knock an ice cream henchman unconscious with a move inspired by the Vulcans. They both fail, so an annoyed Numbuh 5 knocks them out with a weapon instead.
  • Really 700 Years Old: A variant; the KND operatives from the Alamode incident have been frozen for years, and by the time they were thawed out, they were technically over the 13 year age limit to stay KND operatives.
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss: The constant bickering between Numbuh 86 and Numbuh 19th Century leads to the two of them kissing. When Numbuh 86 realizes an amused Numbuh 5 is watching, she immediately pushes Numbuh 19th Century away and acts like nothing happened.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Numbuh 19th Century's view on the female gender, to the point that the most shocking thing about being in the future isn't actually the future itself, but the fact that girls are in the KND.
  • That's No Moon: The Delightful Children's cake that Father and his Ice Cream henchmen make doubles as a Death Star-esque space station. For bonus points, Numbuh 86 says this trope word for word.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Numbuh 4 spends several hours in a fake cake waiting for the Delightful Children to arrive with their actual cake. The isolation eventually drives him to the edge of insanity. Finally, when the Delightful Children arrive, he bursts out of the fake cake, confronts them...and then drops his stance and thanks the gods when cake starts raining from the sky.
  • Trojan Horse: Numbuh 1's plan this year was to hide in a Trojan Cake to trick the Delightful Children to bring it in. The plan is nearly dropped when Numbuhs 86 and 19th Century are taken hostage and Sector V goes to rescue them. Numbuh 4 stays behind for a pincer attack.
  • A Truce While We Gawk: Numbuh 86 and Father share a laugh together over Numbuh 19th Century being extremely behind the times.
  • We Need a Distraction: Numbuh 3 keeps Father's henchmen busy with an excuse that they're having a private party and that none of their names are on her guest list.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: This episode borrows a lot from the original Star Wars film trilogy, such as a space station with a power destruction beam, the heroes masquerading as the guards, a prison break, and a climatic duel between the Big Good and Big Bad with swords (candlesticks?).
  • Worth It: In the end, Numbuh 4 is half-crazed from hunger and isolation. He threatens the Delightful Children, demanding the cake immediately. He is quite pleased to see the big chunks of cake raining down from the sky. A big piece landing right on him doesn't deflate his mood, as he can simply eat his way out.
  • You Monster!: Numbuh 86 after Father destroys the KND Orbital Ice Cream Storage Facility.
