After Sector V narrowly survives an encounter with the Delightful Children from Down the Lane, they find out that one of the Delightful Children, Lenny, has defected from the group. He joins the team on a mission at a coffee drilling rig, but just how much can he be trusted?

Date of Mission: May 21, 2004

  • Batman Gambit: Double subversion. One of the Delightful Children becomes a mole, making Sector V think he's helping them destroy the other DCFDTL's coffee supply, when it's actually a trap to steal the team's top-secret plans. As it turns out, the KND are pulling a Batman Gambit of their own; the briefcase they steal actually has a bomb, and after the Delightful Children spring their trap, the heroes get the last laugh and manage to destroy the coffee supply anyway.
  • Double Agent: Lenny pretends to have been The Mole to spy on the Delightful Children when he's really attempting to smuggle KND intel.
  • Fake Defector: It looks as though Lenny had become an undercover spy for the KND, but it's later revealed that he was on the side of the DCFTDL all along.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Lenny tells Sector V that they're good at imitating the Delightful Children. It only stands to reason that they are, considering they share the same voice actors.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Numbuh 4 isn't aware the KND know Lenny is a Fake Defector.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Numbuh 5 suffers this temporarily after she ingests some coffee while breaking the barge's siphon.
  • Near-Villain Victory: This episode starts off with one. Sector V is chained to an iceberg, and the Delightful Children are closing in on them with a drill. The only reason they don't succeed is because Lenny pulls a lever that sends the DCFDTL flying away.
  • Never Bare Headed: This episode averts this for Lenny, who does take off his helmet in front of the KND.
  • Never My Fault: The other four Delightful Children solely blame Lenny for the destruction of the coffee rig, even though they were all tricked.
  • Power-Up Food: The Villain of the Week, Cuppa Joe, gains Super-Speed from large doses of coffee. The same later applies to Numbuh Five when she overdoses on coffee.
  • The Reveal: This is the first time Numbuh 4 reveals his inability to swim.
  • Reveal Shot: At the very beginning, Numbuh One tries to rally the team. Then it's revealed they're all chained to an iceberg, with the Delightful Children closing in on them.
  • Ship Tease: While they are chained to the iceberg, Numbuh 4 almost confesses his love for Numbuh 3 before he gets interrupted by the Delightful Children from Down the Lane.
Numbuh 4: Uhm, Numbuh 3. I've always wanted to-to tell you something.
Numbuh 3: You don't have to say it, Numbuh 4. I know you really love Rainbow Monkeys too.
Numbuh 4: No, no, no. It's-it's...
  • Stop Drowning and Stand Up: After Sector V gets thrown into the ocean, Numbuh Four flails around, in stark contrast to the others calmly standing in the knee-deep water. Numbuh One tells him firmly, "Stop swimming", and when he does so, it is revealed they are standing on a KND submarine.
  • Suddenly Voiced: Subverted in that Lenny is always speaking along with the rest of the Delightful Children, but this is the first time he's actually heard speaking distinctly alone.
  • Xanatos Gambit: The KND's plan was set up so that they win no matter what happens. Either they destroy the coffee rig like normal, or the DCFTDL defeat them and steal their "plans", which is really a bomb, which will blow up the coffee rig anyways.
