A lost baby skunk interferes with a mission to rescue brainwashed campers.

Original air date: 1/24/2003

Now loading tropes:

  • Bait-and-Switch: The way Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 3 fuss over the 'baby', it gives the audience the impression this is an orphaned human baby. Imagine the audience's surprise when they learn Bradley is a baby skunk.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: On one hand, Numbuh 1 has a point that taking care of Bradley has thus far been a hindrance to the mission, and the KND being kids makes them unprepared for the responsibilities of caring for an infant. However, not only is Numbuh 3 in the right when she says Bradley isn't "stupid", but Bradley turns out to be useful towards the end of the mission.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Bradley is so adorable that even Numbuh 4 and Numbuh 5 take the opportunity to dote on him.
  • Damsel out of Distress: More along the lines of "Infant out of Distress". Bradley sprays Chester after his parents spray the other campers, making the crooked villain's threat of throwing the baby skunk in the lake void.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Numbuh 1 is able to make Bradley a member of the KND. Later episodes would establish an entire training program supervised by the KND higher ups would be required before officially becoming one. Additionally, Bradley becoming Numbah 6 is a bit harder to believe once the greater KND was revealed, with numbers already going astronomically high.
  • Foreshadowing: The first clue that viewers get that Numbuh 1 is correct that something wrong is going on at Chester's name is the name-Camp Lemmeouttaheah-as in Let Me Outta Here.
  • Mama Bear / Papa Wolf: When Chester threatens Bradley's life, his parents come to his rescue and start spraying all of Chester's campers.
  • Only Sane Man: Relatively. Numbuh 1 is the only one who isn't swayed with the idea of taking care of a baby skunk.
  • Parents for a Day: Numbuh 2 and 3 act like Bradley's mom and dad while they care for him, but it's just platonic.
  • Properly Paranoid: Numbuh 1 suspects something sinister is going on at Chester's summer camp. He's right.
  • Status Quo Is God: Downplayed. Bradley's family is found, so the KND don't have to forgo their responsibilities to take care of him. However, Numbuh 1 honorarily makes Bradley a new KND member, Numbuh 6.
  • Villain of the Week: Chester, who is brainwashing children for the purpose of making them build wallets for him.
    • If that wasn't enough, he threatens Bradley's life by grabbing him by his tail with full intent on throwing him into a lake.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Bradley is a baby skunk and not a human child, but Chester doesn't hesitate to try and hurt him, let alone throw him into a lake.
  • You Meddling Kids: Chester says he would have succeeded if it weren't for "you meddling skunks".
