After announcing their return, and absorbing the Black Knights into their forces, Voltron is contacted by the members of Kyoto, the heads of the Japanese rebellion.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Kallen does not approve of Lelouch getting The Glomp from Kaguya. Complete with Cross-Popping Veins.
- Defensive "What?": C.C. does this when everyone gives her looks of disbelief (or even mortification) after she arrives in a pod...she completely filled to the brim with boxes of Pizza Hut Pizza.
- The Glomp: Kaguya subjects Lelouch to this. Kallen does not approve.
- Internal Reveal: The Black Knights learn here that the missing Ashford Students are the Paladins of Voltron.
- Mythology Gag: Lelouch has Coran be the one to where the Zero disguise, in part because Coran really wanted to wear the costume, bringing to mind a scene during Legendary Defender episode "The Ark of Taujeer" where he wears an equally silly costume while attempting to be a substitute Red Paladin.
- Ship Tease: Kallen gets noticeably unhappy when Kaguya subjects Lelouch to The Glomp.
- Wham Episode: Charles manages to convince Nunnally to ask the Paladins to surrender and does so via international television. Additionally, Haggar begins to make her way to Earth after it becomes apparent Zarkon cannot locate the planet via his connection to the Black Lion.
