"Our mythology is their reality"

The oldest analogue computer, the Antikythera mechanism, was the beginning of humanity's discovery of the Digital World, but now will be their own undoing in the form of a vengeful group of Digimon known as the Olympos XII who want to reclaim what they believe is theirs alone. A mysterious Champion Level, an outcast from this group, partners with a human upon learning they both share a common interest regarding a worker in the adult industry, who is but one of many fighters against an organization from whom the Olympos XII is using as a front to invade the real world with once their King returns.
—Summary provided for the fanfic's reveal.

Digital Monster Ver. Iliad is a Constructed World Digimon fanfic in the works scheduled in advance for 2021, written by MF217. The story is off a dropout from college in his early 20s, partially named after the author as Martin Collins. As a lone man in life who deems himself having no future, he decides to simply make the best of his life as much as he can because he believes his life is nearing it's premature end. As a result, he winds up signing up for a website to hire a prostitute known as Omina, the "Deadliest Bombshell", who has a bit of an unspoken secret in that she is in fact a Digimon Tamer who is partnered with the Legend-Arms Digimon Zubamon and Ludomon, and employs the two as bodyguards. During their first encounter, things don't go so smoothly between the two.

A distant memory awakens within Martin's mind; a powerful looking Digimon, known as Marsmon, messages him from a foretold message about the imminent resurgence of Martin's missing memories, and the return of his own long lost partner Digimon from his childhood, now having gained a perpetual Champion Level form known as Aegiomon. Aegiomon reintroduces himself as a hormone crazed bastard which interferes with Martin's attempts to get laid, and causes Omina to have guards that were with her just outside to ambush the two and abduct them after realizing something about Martin's partner Digimon.

Now taken to a place known simply as "The Enclosure", in which the head chief of Tamers present in this sanctuary for Digimon in the real world, known simply as "Croft", offers Martin a job to assist with managing the settlement, only doing so for but two reasons; he needs the extra hands around the place, and because he wants to examine how Martin's interaction with Aegiomon goes after their initial reunion, because Croft, and Omina, both believe that Martin's partner Digimon is a lot more than he initially appears to be, and may in fact be directly associated with the major enemies of The Enclosure, from which is used as a front by a faction of Digimon known as the Olympos XII.

Character tropes being prepared under at Citadel Of The Heart Digital Monster Ver Iliad.

Tropes pertaining to Digital Monster Ver. Iliad

  • Abled in the Adaptation: While the two were never actually outright crippled in canon Citadel of the Heart, both Grandis and Devoniak were rather abominable compared to what a normal H. s. ultimorius would've looked like, which normally was never shown. Here, as their perpetual Fusion Dance under the nickname of "Krampus", we finally get to see an actual, individual H. s. ultimorius who is by all means a healthy and powerful mature specimen. The results turn out to be not so pleasant to the point it becomes crystal clear that their near extinction in the Citadel of the Heart is actually a blessing in disguise...
  • After the End/Apocalypse Not: Something is implied to have happened that caused the world to be so devoid of civilization in all but the largest of cities or collective farmlands. Whatever it is, however, never ultimately is figured out, but there do appear to be Noodle Implements at best. RagnaLordmon, if Croft's Oh, Crap! reaction to his existence is anything to go by, appears to be one of them.
  • Alternate Universe Reed Richards Is Awesome: Being intelligent and well educated on crafting stuff is vital to being a Digimon Tamer, as your abilities are desired most to harvest raw materials from one of the moons orbiting the planet which is comprised of Digital World material almost exclusively. As a result of this, while it is unclear where civilization in this world was comparable to real world history, the technological advances made by Digimon Tamers and their craftsmanship have changed the world drastically to the point many different forms of technology exist long before they would've naturally existed in our own timeline.
  • Author Appeal: The entire reason for the fic's existence and early reveal is because the author had many intentions in mind for a more OC based story revolving around the Olympos XII and heavily referencing Classical Mythology simply to give him a legitimate excuse to have an actual realistic reason to write a Porn with Plot type of fic.
  • Author Avatar: It's not Martin, despite the evidence that exists, as he's a Red Herring towards a little surprise. Grandis exists in this canon... as having perpetually had a Fusion Dance occur between him and Dr. Devoniak, creating a new entity in the process whose name is currently unknown, but otherwise nicknames himself "Krampus".
  • Canon Character All Along:
    • Brondramon, Cobaldramon, and Jadedramon don't appear in the fic, but considering we finally get to learn their immediate prior Mega Level forms in this fic, they appear by proxy because their pre-evolution is an official Digimon. Case in point, Brondramon is Volcanicdramon, Cobaldramon is Nidhoggmon, and Jadedramon is Metallicdramon.
    • Dramatic Irony is in effect with how Mirei is her canon counterpart 100% in almost every aspect, the only difference is that she's older here and not all that much else. The audience will easily notice she's the same character she's noted for in her original appearances, whereas literally every other canon character is borderline unrecognizable by comparison.
  • Canon Foreigner: Some human characters exist in this setting that originate from other Digimon media, and all of them have been aged up and have altered aspects about them to the point they're borderline unrecognizable. However, there is a distinct trait they maintain from the canon in which is used to easily identify them.
  • Classical Mythology: All of the Olympos XII and the Iliad Server of the Digital World heavily reference this, even down to the point of attempting to integrate aspects of the actual Greco-Roman Deities the Olympos XII and their affiliates are named after to have the latter be Truer to the Text towards the former.
  • Constructed World:
    • The human world, while it is called Earth, is unrecognizable because it at one point was somewhere in the 1800s as far as civilization's progress, but interaction between the Digital World leading to the creation of a second moon, in which Digimon Tamers learned to travel there and bring back raw materials and study them, caused civilization to advance much faster than it did in the real world. One thing that should be mentioned that isn't obvious outside of the narrative, is that the entirety of the landscape, terrain, biomes, are all different in this world; the planet is very Earth-like, and the star it orbits is a main sequence star just like Sol is, but everything else about this particular Solar System is different altogether. That's not even getting into the fact there is a second planet in the habitual zone which, while slightly smaller, is otherwise inhabited by humans exiled from the main planet... and is also subsequently where Yggdrasil's server of the Digital World is located.
    • The Human World also appears to have two moons, one of which is heavily rich in Chrome Digizoid, and is often visited using Digimon capable of transporting humans there to extract and harvest as much Chrome Digizoid as possible, study them, and reverse engineer Digimon technology into inventions that could benefit human society as a whole.
    • Also on a more mundane note, the continents are arranged a tad differently; there is no land bridge between North and South America, India is it's own separate land mass from Asia, and Antarctica is only partially frozen because the entirety of it isn't completely at the bottom of the world, from which Australia is closer towards because it and Antarctica haven't even separated, to which only a gigantic river is what separates South America from Africa. The best way to describe the way the Earth would look from orbit would be to imagine the position of the continents as they were in the Jurassic Period.
    • Not only that but each of the landmasses have different names than what we use for them in reality:
      • North America: Lesser Primos
      • Eurasia: Greater Primos
      • South America: Serpendis
      • Africa: Wilderlind
      • Antarctica: The Vast Void
      • India: Atlantia
  • Composite Character: The Olympos XII are the exact same entities they're based on from Greco-Roman Mythology, as opposed to simply being based on them.
  • Fantasy Contraception: Between human characters only this is Averted, as real contraceptives are used when needed. Humanoid Digimon can have sex with humans, but actual pregnancies resulting from it is implied to be impossible, but some, such as Omina and especially Aegiomon, believes there is something that must be done to allow fertile breeding of a human and Digimon session. However, even with Aegiomon freely being able to have sex with Omina without any protection needed, Martin gets rather jealous over the fact Omina apparently seems to prefer his own Digimon rather than him.
  • Meaningful Name: Martin being the name of the main character isn't intended to reference the author and thus make this a Self-Insert Fic; it's actually a reference to the Roman God Mars, and subsequently why Marsmon in particular is the first of the Olympos XII to showcase the fact he isn't part of the antagonistic side of the Olympos XII overall.
  • The Oldest Profession: Unlike the real world, a good chunk of adult women are highly involved as sex workers all across the globe, to the point it's hard to make it illegal when it's too valid of a career position to pass up, especially considering there's an implication that the human population in this world had suffered a serious body count not too long before the present.
  • The Omnipresent: Brondramon, Cobaldramon, and Jadedramon still manage to show up even without actually showing up as their usual forms simply because the Ultra Level doesn't exist as far as this fic is concerned. Instead, they used to exist in their best known forms, but were slain in ancient times by RagnaLordmon, in which case they were reborn and slowly worked their way back up to Mega Level, in which case the three are now Volcanicdramon, Nidhoggmon, and Metallicdramon respectively.
  • Porn with Plot: Considering the heavy influences of Classical Mythology, this is to be expected. However, it only seldom has fully blown scenes in mind; a lot of lesser scenes happen off-page explicitly indicated by Sexy Discretion Shot.
  • Pragmatic Adaptation:
    • Of Classical Mythology in regards to several Gods and the Olympos XII being the same individual. The Digimon lore for the Olympos XII has problems of being Sadly Mythtaken a lot of the time, to the point Jupitermon is easily within the range of Everybody Loves Zeus. Even them, the Olympos XII are named from their Roman counterparts, not their Greek counterparts, which is the versions of them used as the primary basis for their individual characterization overall with the entirety of the Olympos XII and their affiliates seen here. However, in spite of this, traits from both their Greek and Roman counterparts are incorporated into them, even down to including smaller doses of their Digimon characteristics still intact when they're relevant.
    • The Ultra Level is flat out removed, with not even any of the unquestionable membersnote  being present in this fic. Daemon and UlforceVeedramon do show up later, but utilize their X-Antibody forms to prevent them from being copies of their incarnations elsewhere in Citadel of the Heart, which actually do make use of their aforementioned Ultra Level forms. The Legendary Light Dragons don't directly appear, but as they're still classified as The Omnipresent, there's a Loophole Abuse used to maintain their presence; in that they still exist, but don't go above their prior Mega Level forms in the present day, which are revealed as Volcanicdramon (Brondramon), Nidhoggmon (Cobaldramon), and Metallicdramon (Jadedramon).
  • Real Event, Fictional Cause: Volcanicdramon, AKA Brondramon, caused the explosive eruption of Thera in this particular instance. Unlike Cobaldramon causing the Tunguska Event, this situation is unique to Brondramon for this particular fic.
  • STD Immunity: Averted, unless the characters know enough about each other to trust their partner(s) health and allow them to have sex without protection. Omina's work schedule often mandates she carries around protection for both any individual involved in her work, even for herself, and she regularly keeps track of how long ago purchases for protection were made and whether anything is expired and needs replaced.
  • Wham Shot:
    • The Mega Level prior form to Jadedramon changes absolutely everything even the author had originally known about him up until then. Jadedramon was a Dragon's Roar, Jungle Troopers Digimon who was very much a living plant fused with an icy comet. Turns it to have significant ties to the Metal Empire by virtue of Metallicdramon being it's prior form. Even In-Universe nobody saw it coming in terms of Metallicdramon being the reborn Jadedramon, not even Omina figured it out, which is saying something since she was the only one who outright know of RagnaLordmon being Real After All to begin with.
    • What happens when Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object? Everyone else not named Omina finds out the hard way that this is exactly how RagnaLordmon makes his first appearance alive in eons, by Combining from the two Digimon who represent each of those attributes.
  • You Need to Get Laid: Martin's parents both gave Martin this advice prior to him searching up online for any local prostitutes, noting that Martin's work schedule around the house has him to stressed out with trying to find a suitable job than actually trying to enjoy himself. Admittedly, Martin masturbates a lot, and with his parents having worked in the adult industry at one point, they're giving him this advice because A: this is how his parents met and had him in the first place, and B: obviously they object to Martin just screwing his own mother, so they bring up Omina's existence to him for him to try and arrange a meeting with her.
