Recap / Chucky S 3 E 6 Panic Room

Go To

Chucky gains access to the nuclear launch codes.

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Chucky's nuke list comprises of Moscow (Russia), Pyongyang (North Korea) and the North Pole even though as lampshaded it's a vastly empty region because Chucky wants to kill the fantasy of Santa Claus for the children.
  • Becoming the Mask: While Lexy admits that she needed to get close to Grant so he can help her and the boys reach Chucky, she confesses that she truly has developed feelings for him.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Grant doesn't fully believe the Chucky story at first, but still goes along with it on the chance that Henry really is in danger.
  • Big "WHAT?!": A shocked Henry shouts this after Chucky targets the North Pole to be nuked just so he can prove that Santa Claus doesn't exist.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Lexy interferes with her friends' absolute plan on killing Chucky since only Chucky knows where Caroline is.
  • Cigarette of Anxiety: After her husband's death, the stress of having to hide it from her children and not being able to take them somewhere safer causes Charlotte to start smoking, which confuses Grant as he points out that she never usually smokes.
  • Coughing Up Blood: Chucky does this in the Situation Room as he inches closer to death.
  • Doesn't Like Guns: Chucky reveals his distaste for guns, partly because his enemies have killed him with one, so many times.
  • Eye Scream: Chucky finishes off a Secret Service agent by stabbing him through his eye with a pen.
  • Internal Reveal: Grant learns Chucky is real and has been killing people. However, his attempt at nuking the world is covered up. Henry learns of Chucky's true murderous nature, after believing him a friend and confidant.
  • Meaningless Villain Victory: Chucky only manages to launch the nuke aimed at the North Pole, which is unlikely to have killed anyone, since nobody lives there. Unless you count the polar bears.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Chucky's plan to destroy humanity is averted at the last possible second. However, his final dying act is to launch a nuke into the North Pole, which will require a careful coverup, lest the United States' enemies wonder if this is a warning shot and a precursor for war.
  • Not Quite Dead: Chucky's physical body is destroyed, seemingly for good, after being shot by the Secret Service. However, the ending reveals Charles Lee Ray has become a ghostly spirit, haunting the White House.
  • Not What I Signed on For: As he watches Chucky murder the secret service while taking him to the situation room to launch nuclear missiles, the president's body double, Randall, says "This is not what I signed up for."
  • Nuke 'em: Chucky's ultimate plan for humanity. Ultimately, most of the damage is averted, and only the North Pole is bombed, which the White House plan to blame on an accidental launch.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: As encouraged by Tiffany, Chucky decides to elevate himself to this to cause 8 billion human deaths so that he will go down in history as the greatest serial killer ever. His irreversible rapid aging is the main cause of this, as because he knows he's dying he decides to just Taking You with Me all of humanity down with him.
  • Papa Wolf: Despite only being a body double for the president, Randall still tries to protect Henry when Chucky takes the two of them hostage.
  • "Save the World" Climax: Chucky's plan to destroy humanity by nuking Moscow and Pyongyang and starting World War III, is averted at the absolute last second, thanks to Jake, Devon and Lexy arriving just in time, alongside the Secret Service, who shoot Chucky dead, seemingly for good.
  • Shout-Out: Chucky stands on a map of the world and shouts "Made it, Ma! Top of the world!"
  • Your Costume Needs Work: A meta example. Both Charlotte and Chucky comment on how the President's body double Randall looks nothing like him, even though they're both played by the same actor.
