Sha Hualing's forces are driven off Cang Qiong Mountain and Shen Qingqiu slowly recovers from his injuries. Not long after, he and Luo Binge find themselves trapped in the latter's dreams.
- Adaptation Deviation: In-Universe. In the subplot where Meng Mo invades Luo Binghe's dream and tampers with it, it's Ning Yingying who got dragged into the demon's barrier alongside Luo Binghe in the original canon. But in the new canon, Shen Qingqiu takes Ning Yingying's place since he has become the person Luo Binghe trusts the most instead of her.
- Batman Gambit: Atttempted. In spite of his powers being impaired by the poison. Shen Qingqiu suggests to Sha Hualing that they have one more duel to settle things once and for all in the hopes that the bluff would scare her into backing off. However, the gambit fails as Sha Hualing decides to take her chances anyway.
- Big Damn Heroes: Liu Qingge provides Shen Qingqiu some support at the last second before Sha Hualing is able to land a decisive strike on him.
- But Thou Must!: The System warns Shen Qingqiu that either Luo Binghe falls into the Endless Abyss like he did in the original plot, otherwise Shen Qingqiu will lose 10,000 B-points.
- Crazy-Prepared: The mundane variation; Luo Binghe planned to feed Shen Qingqiu congee by the time he wakes up, but he didn't know when Shen Qingqiu would be awake, so he cooked a new serving every two hours.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Although the demons were already retreating by then, it was obvious that even if they chose to face Liu Qingge head-on, they wouldn't stand a chance.
- Easily Forgiven: Shen Qingqiu lampshades how all the abuse that Luo Binghe was put through got quickly swept under the rug after Shen Qingqiu risked his life for him once.
- Foreshadowing:
- Shen Qingqiu becomes worried when Luo Binghe offers to cook for him every day, since that's also what he said to his wives in the original canon.
- In the dream realm, Shen Qingqiu took over Ning Yingying's place. All Shen Qingqiu got out of it was that he became somehow Luo Binghe's most trusted person. He did not consider he just took over the role of someone who eventually became one of Luo Binghe's wives.
- Hyper-Awareness: Liu Qingge is the only one who suspects that "Shen Qingqiu" may not actually be himself because of the changes in his behavior and actions.
- It's All My Fault: Both Yue Qingyuan and Mu Qingfang blame themselves for failing to do more for Shen Qingqiu and the poison affecting his condition, and they keep going back and forth with the self-blame before Shen Qingqiu can even have time to reassure them otherwise.
- Mr. Exposition: Thanks to his knowledge of the novel, Shen Qingqiu is able to explain to Luo Binghe (and the audience) why they're stuck in the dream realm, what goes on in the dream realm, and who's responsible for tampering with Luo Binghe's dreams.
- Only Sane Man: When Yue Qingyuan and Mu Qingfang get wrapped up in blaming themselves for what happened to Shen Qingqiu, Shen Qingqiu tries and fails to calm them down, and it's Liu Qingge who snaps them out of their funk by stating that the matter with Shen Qingqiu should be kept private.
- Right for the Wrong Reasons: Liu Qingge is correct in his assumptions that Shen Qingqiu might not be who he seems and that he might be possessed, but he's incorrect that Shen Qingqiu is possessed by a demon. In truth, Shen Qingqiu's body is now inhabited by the soul of Shen Yuan, who is a human.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Liu Qingge arrives at the scene, Sha Hualing knows that she's outmatched and decides to hightail it.
- So Proud of You: While not said word-for-word, Shen Qingqiu telling Luo Binghe that he knew he would win clearly had this sentiment in mind.
- Supreme Chef: Shen Qingqiu already knows that Luo Binghe is a good cook as it's one of the ways he was able to charm women in the original canon. But when he personally gets to eat some congee Luo Binghe makes, he thinks that it's so delicious that he might cry.
- Tamer and Chaster: In the novel, Sha Hualing's clothes got torn to pieces from the force of the attack Liu Qingge sends her way, leaving her almost completely in the nude. In the donghua, while she's sent flying, her clothes remain intact.
- True Companions: Shen Qingqiu observes that the leaders of the Cang Qiong Mountain Sect — sans Shen Qingqiu — look out for each other like they're family, and he laments that Shen Qingqiu took that for granted.
- Ungrateful Bastard:
- In spite of Luo Binghe securing a solid victory for the Cang Qiong Mountain Sect, Ming Fan still doesn't change his harsh attitude towards his shixiong.
- Averted in Liu Qingge's case, as he doesn't hesitate to save Shen Qingqiu's life in return for the latter saving his in Episode 4. However, while he acknowledges what Shen Qingqiu did for him, he remains suspicious if the one who saved him is Shen Qingqiu or someone else posing as him.
