Having entered the Azur Lane base, Thorson and Laffey explore the complex until they finally find the owners of the Sakura ship; Akashi and the ghostly Shiranui.
This chapter contains the following tropes:
- Beware the Nice Ones: Thorson is clearly not in the best of moods and probably would have killed Akashi and Shiranui if they don't comply and talk what they know.
- Didn't Think This Through: Akashi's plan was to have herself and Shiranui hide out at the Azur Lane island base; an island base that produces all Kansen who would have memory of its location.
- If I Wanted You Dead...: Shiranui makes a statement that if she was serious, she would blast Thorson and Laffey with her cannons before they could make a move.
- Powered Armor: Thorson and Laffey discover the existence of Kansen riggings.
- Wouldn't Hurt a Child: The only reason Thorson doesn't blow the two rogue Sakura's brains out is because he has no desire to shoot who he perceives to be children.
