- Ambiguous Situation: Its not clear if what caused Gordon and Lilith to become axe-murderors was The Kid's paintings, something about the house, or if they were simply bat-shit crazy to begin with.
- Nightmare Fetishist: The B&B Gordon and Lilith came up catered to this, centering and showcasing the "murder history" of the Lacy house with mannequins used to recreate the victims. Unfortunately the first people who stay there are a little creeped out by the concept and were looking for a regular Bed & Breakfast. They only stay due to no other options.
- Of course, Jackie naturally thinks the idea is awesome and even notes at the couple used the wrong axe for one of the recreations. They probably would have gone along swimmingly if they weren't distracted cleaning up the double-homicide that just occurred.
- Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Jackie Torrence took her self-style nickname from her rather infamous uncle who went nuts and tried to kill his family with an axe. This episode sees the circle close when Jackie kills Gordon to say Henry's life with an axe ironically in self-defense to stop a murder rather to commit one. For added irony, the axe she used was a prop for the recreation of a different axe-murder.
