  • Armor-Piercing Question: Back at the Burgue, Vignette asks Philo if he has ever shared his secret with anyone but her.
  • Blow That Horn: Vignette uses a horn to warn her fellow fae about the upcoming attack.
  • Break Her Heart to Save Her: Philo makes Vignette believe he died in the Pact attack in order to keep her from harm. The plan works but it makes her heartbroken for the next seven years. She later tells him that this was a selfish act.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: We meet Philo with longer hair here to indicate that this episode plays out at a different time. Also Vignette has slightly longer hair.
  • Gas Mask Mooks: The Pact airship crews are portrayed this way.

  • Not His Blood: When Vignette and Philo find Darius after the werewolf attack in his blood-soaked uniform, he ensures them that it's not his own.

  • Shell-Shock Silence: The ambient sound drowns out, a One-Woman Wail comes in and the scene goes into slow motion when the attack hits the fort.

  • Silent Whisper: We don't hear what the Fae leader whispers into Vignette's ear but we know what it's about by Vignette's reaction.
  • Time-Passes Montage: A montage showing the passage of the seasons in the mountains indicating that Philo and Vignette spent quite a while together before getting separated.
  • Transformation Horror: The scene when Darius changes into a werewolf during a full moon night.
  • Unseen Evil: All we ever get to see of the Pact are Gas Mask Mooks in their airships.
  • Whole Episode Flashback: Much of the episode is a flashback to how Philo and Vignette met.
  • Your Mom: One soldier mockingly asks the other if there was any animal he wouldn't shack to which the other replies with this trope.
  • Zeppelins from Another World: The Pact soldiers come flying in with zeppelins.
  • Zombie Infectee: Darius tries to hide the fact that he was bitten by one of the werewolves which eventually turns him into a werewolf during a full moon.
