Carl, Blooper, Dry Bones, and Boo want to attend Talia's party. However, Mr. Mitchell forces Carl to stay behind with his half-sisters, Carrie and Sally, so he attempts to escape.
I've got TV Tropes phone number. I'll call them now if you don't do what I say.
Both versions
The Classic version only ("So it's you who's been drinking all the tropes!")
- Bandage Mummy: Gooper ends up like this at the end of the episode due to the injuries he sustained from the Molotov cocktail that Carrie gave to Carl.
- Big Brother Instinct: Carl protects Carrie and Sally when they are both accosted by Gooper and his gang.
- Molotov Cocktail: Carrie throws one of these to Carl so he can fend off Gooper at the end of the fight.
The Remastered version only ("Career?! There are pre-teen tropers with more active fanbases than you!")
- The Dogs Bite Back: Double subverted. Carl first stands up to Gooper and his gang by telling them the party was only lame because his group of thugs, primarily Bob in question, showed up. Bob then gives him a black eye and threatens to make Carl repeat precisely what he told him. Thankfully, Carrie unknowingly helps him by throwing grape soda in his face to allow him to send Bob flying into a bookshelf, causing Ronald's vase to break and land on his head.
- Establishing Character Moment: Since the 2023 remaster is Bob's first appearance, Bob is shown to be close friends with Gooper. He is known to lash out at people when he doesn't get what he wants or when someone even tries to stand up to him. It is also shown that while he is strong and very intimidating, he can barely put up a fight and is rather easy to take him out.
- Glass Cannon: Bob might be strong and physically intimidating, but he is quickly defeated by one single push from Carl.
- Oh, Crap!: Everyone who attended the party (invited and uninvited) has this reaction when Ronald, Janet, Calvin and Linda show up at Talia's house to see what has happened. And boy, were they not happy?
- Obfuscating Disability: Grace invites Gordy over to Talia's birthday party because even though he is a Jerkass, she feels bad for him because he is bound to a wheelchair. Dry Bones and Talia then tell Grace that Gordy isn't actually disabled, he is just too lazy to walk.
- Strong, but Unskilled: Yes, Bob is strong and very intimidating, but all it takes to defeat him is him being temporarily blinded by a little girl and pushed by a guy who is Weak, but Skilled.
- You Are Grounded!: Twofold.
- Carl, Carrie and Sally are hit with a two-week grounding for disobeying Calvin and Linda's orders and leaving their house to attend Talia's birthday party.
- Talia receives the same punishment, but her grounding time is never revealed.
- Younger Than They Look: Lampshaded by Carl after Blooper tells him Bob will become 18 the following month. He even thinks Bob looks twenty-five.
- Witch with a Capital "B": Subverted. Carl calls Mary-Lynn "The Wicked Bitch of the West" when he steps in to defend Carrie from her.
- Would Hurt a Child: Mary-Lynn pulls Carrie's hair and later hits her in the eye. She even laughs at Carrie after hitting her.
