Recap / Cardcaptor Sakura Sakuras Tiring Sunday

Go To

Sakura is prepared to picnic with Tomoyo. Touya reminds her, however, that she promised to clean the house on Sunday. Sakura ropes in Kero to help her with laundry, and discovers two Clow Cards. When they threaten to mess up the household, however, Sakura must catch them before her family arrives home.

Tropes for this episode include:

  • Brick Joke: Kero had told Sakura to write her name on the cards earlier to seal them. At the end of the episode, Toya teases that they got cake but Sakura needs to write her name on a slice to get a piece.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: This is the only time a Clow Card is shown willingly returning to it's card form without needing to be sealed. Kero explains it as Wood being a gentle card, but even cards that don't put up a fight later on still need Sakura to seal them.
  • Group Hug: Sakura and Kero hug Tomoyo when she offers to help with cleaning.
  • Poor Communication Kills: If Sakura had shown Kero the cards, he would have given her proper instruction on how to seal them.
  • Post-Victory Collapse: Sakura naps after she, Tomoyo and Kero re-clean the house and seal the cards.
  • The Watson: Sakura serves as this. Kero explains that she has to write her names on the cards that she finds, or they will still be free technically.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: Sakura and Kero get most of the house-cleaned. Then vines start growing from the basement, and they have to seal the card right after it messes up the laundry hanging on the line.
