The fortress of Konga, an ancient wizard with control over plants, arises from beneath Kongoland. Trying to beat Mother Brain to a deadly treasure hidden there, Lana accidentally ends up possessed by the wizard, who resumes his dreams of conquest.
Tropes:
- Artifact of Doom: Konga's headdress, which lets him take over the wearer's body.
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Lana/Konga rides into battle on top of a plant-Notzilla.
- Demonic Possession: Lana after she finds herself wearing Konga's headdress.
- Enemy Mine: Donkey Kong helps the N Team tackle Konga's army, but makes it clear he wants them off his property as soon as the villain's dealt with.
- Green Thumb: Konga's magic lets him control plant life, including creating an army of vegetable monsters.
- Hat of Power: Again, the headdress that contains all of the wizard's magic. Hefty downside, though.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: The episode tries to show Lana having a failure of confidence when she's overwhelmed by the responsibilities as a ruler, so that eventually Kevin can appeal to Lana's true inner strength to fight off Konga's control. It doesn't work too well because Lana has little trouble being confident and decisive as soon as the N Team heads out to Kongoland, so of course he's right.
- Judgment of Solomon: Attempted by Lana when two farmers dispute which one owns a certain cow. Unfortunately for her, they both agree this is an ideal solution (at least at first).
- No Ontological Inertia: Destroying the wizard's headdress destroys all of the plant monsters that were created during his rampage too.
- Plothole: Lana claims the chest they find in the lost city has ancient writing on it that Simon translates (basically a warning not to open it). A close-up of the chest shows no writing of any kind, however.
- Prophecies Are Always Right: There was a prophecy that the lost city would rise and the wizard would return. It did, and he did.
