Mother Brain runs out of power and shuts down for good, allowing Kevin to return home. But all is not as it seems...
Tropes:
- Bond Villain Stupidity: Mother Brain has a helpless Kevin at her mercy...and drops him into the tunnels of Metroid, which he knows inside and out, and expects that to be the last she sees of him.
- Easily Conquered World: With Captain N out of the way, Mother Brain appears to take all of about two minutes conquering Videoland. To be fair, that's actually pretty par for the course for video games, especially back then.
- Foreshadowing: When Mother Brain chastises her minions, King Hippo protests, but Eggplant Wizard tells him to shut up "before you get us in real trouble", serving as a clue that Mother Brain's "final defeat" is not as it seems.
- Joker Jury: Mother Brain holds a trial for the N Team, fully intending to find them guilty of stopping her from taking over Videoland.
- No-Gear Level: What Kevin's trip through the tunnels of Metroid amounts to, since he dropped off his weapons when it seemed like he was going home.
