Milo has told Lizbeth he'd go see a sappy unicorn movie with her, but there's the coolest horror flick playing that he’d rather see with Rutger. So Milo comes up with a plan - he'll get Rutger to go to the horror movie, and as it starts, he'll call "Uh oh! Flamingo!" so that Milo can scoot over to the other theater "helping" Rutger watch it, then scoot back to the girly movie before the credits roll. Lizbeth will be none the wiser! Of course, complications occur when Milo takes the wrong door out of the horror movie theater - and winds up in the scariest alley know to kidkind!

Tropes in this episode:

  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • To go see Attack of the Alley Monster with Rutger instead of watching Return to Unicorn Island with Lizbeth, Milo tells Rutger to call out "Uh oh! Flamingo!" once the other movie starts so that he scoot over to the other theater out of the Unicorn movie. However, once he arrives to Alley Monster, a theater manager checks his ticket which belongs to Unicorn Island, causing the manager to put him back to that film.
    • To try to return back to Alley Monster, Milo pulls out his inflate-a-mingo to cover for him during Unicorn Island, complete with a voice reply feature, which Lizbeth doesn't mind. However, he got caught by the manager again so he decides to escape the theater to the back alley. Back in the theater during Unicorn Island, one of the audience member's horn from his unicorn hat hits the inflate-a-mingo, causing it to deflate. This makes Lizbeth mad as Milo only did this to escape from watching the Unicorn movie and lied to her.
    • Milo uses his large folding mirror which can make the alley monster think that there's another monster here and it can drive him away. It backfired as other monsters just make him more madder.
  • Ear Worm: The solution to stop the alley monster from chasing him, Rutger and Lizbeth, Milo decides to sing the Unicorn film's theme song, which tormented the alley monster and runs away screaming.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Milo uses his "Bird Brain" to do what the unicorns do by singing the Unicorn film's theme song, which the alley monster can't stand and runs away.
  • Garbage Hideout: To hide from the alley monster, Milo and Rutger hide themselves in trash cans. Although it was originally just Lizbeth disposing the deflated inflate-a-mingo, the real alley monster eventually comes to chase them.
  • I Lied: Milo breaks his promise on watching Return to Unicorn Island with Lizbeth as he uses his inflate-a-mingo to cover for him to escape from watching the film, which eventually deflates due to a unicorn horn from an audience member's unicorn hat poking it.
Lizbeth: You're going to wish it was just an alley monster, Mr. You lied to me! Even after you saw how lies make unicorns cry!
  • Movie-Theater Episode: The plot of the episode has Milo promising Lizbeth to go see a sappy unicorn movie with her, much to his dismay. But then, he saw an ad for Attack of the Alley Monster, a horror flick playing at the same time that he’d rather see with Rutger.
  • My Little Phony: Much to Milo's dismay, has promised Lizbeth to go see Return to Unicorn Island in the theater.
  • Periphery Demographic: In-universe; although there were some girls (including Lizbeth) that were seeing Return to Unicorn Island, the majority of the audience are male adults despite being way out of their target demographic.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: After Lizbeth forgives Milo after lying about him escaping from watching Return to Unicorn Island, she decides that she needs a favor for him... to take him and Rutger to see the film again as she missed the ending the first time, much to Milo's frustration.
  • Real After All: Shortly after escaping from the manager in the back alley of the theater, Milo runs away after allegedly seeing a real alley monster chasing him and tries to hide. Then he sees Rutger, who's hiding with him as well as he indeed saw a real alley monster from the movie coming to chase them.

The ultimate pop fly is zooming skyward and after some quick calculations, Milo knows it’s coming right to him. All he has to do is wait. Heck, he even has time to help out a kid in trouble! Man, when Tabitha gets into trouble she’s gets all the way in! Thanks to a mix-up at school, Tabitha’s got a report due… TODAY! Can Milo help her out and get back to the baseball diamond in time to catch that pop fly, win the game and get the glory? Batter up!

Tropes in this episode:

  • Baseball Episode: Milo needs to catch a fly ball in order to win the baseball game and get his glory. It also has Milo helping Tabitha with her report on glory by teaching her why baseball glory matters.
  • Cat Up a Tree: Milo uses his extendo-grabber to reach for the neighbor's cat to get it off from the tree.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Tabitha didn't start her report despite being due to today, plus her computer is broken so she needs Milo's help. Milo notices that she didn't turn on the computer, which solves her problem. Well, sort of...
    • She then saw the neighbor's cat getting stuck in a tree so Milo uses his extendo-grabber to reach for the cat to get it off from the tree, which also worked but Tabitha now has a bigger problem...
    • While she finds a book for a topic to use for her report, she has a hard time finding a topic to use for her report so she got banned from the library. It was revealed that the topic for her report is all about glory, which is coincidental as Milo does know a lot about glory so he decided to give her a baseball encyclopedia as baseball is where the glory is, so he suggest her to study baseball. However after she looks at the encyclopedia, she mentions that none of the stuff about baseball makes any sense as she doesn't know how baseball is related to glory.
    • Milo decided to take Tabitha to a baseball museum of glory where he tells her about Luke "Catfish" Buckley, a baseball player that caught a ball with his own teeth and wins his glory. Milo then mentions that if he catches the ball in his game, he will win the glory but if he doesn't catch it, he will be forced to clean the locker floor by Wendell. However, she still don't understand why baseball glory is the only glory that matters.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: To make Tabitha understand baseball glory, Milo uses his "Bird Brain" by showing her the glory. He decides to have Tabitha to catch the fly ball instead of him, even if she doesn't know how to catch the ball. It eventually lands on her hair causing her to win the glory and finally gets it. Although Milo didn't win the glory, after saving a neighbor's cat, stopping a thief and saving the museum from a giant baseball display, he still gets praise from the citizens as he is a real hero.
  • Hyperventilation Bag: Tabitha starts hyperventilating with a paper bag after getting freaked out about getting banned from the library.
  • Indy Escape: After Avi accidentally knocks over a display in the baseball museum, it causes a huge baseball to roll over the museum which Milo, Lizbeth and Tabitha get chased with. Fortunately, Milo uses his silly string to make the giant baseball push back and land safely on a huge baseball glove.
  • Motor Mouth: When Tabitha tries to explain her problem to Milo, she speaks incredibly fast as a result of getting freaked out badly. Lizbeth then asks her to slow down what she's saying to explain her problem which involves her not getting her report done, which is due today.
    Tabitha: IDON'TKNOWWHATTODOMYCOMPUTER'SBROKENANDI'MNOTGETTINGANAPLUSIDON'TKNOWWHATTODO!
Lizbeth: Uh? Can you slow down that down from super fast to just regular fast?
    • It happens again later when she still don't get why baseball glory matters to her:
Tabitha: Captain, all of this stuff about baseball doesn't make any sense! I mean, what's this ball got to do with glory? Or this stick? Plus, all you get from winning baseball is a pennant. You don't get an honor roll, or even a bumper sticker for your parent's car. I mean, how is that glory? I mean, IFYOUHADTODOATESTORANASSIGNMENTORAREPORTCARDORYOUGOTAREPORTCARDANDANDANDITWONTSTART...
    Lizbeth: We lost her again.
  • Pom-Pom Girl: At the start of the episode, Ruth is a cheerleader throughout Milo's baseball game. She first does this when Wendell first appears.
Ruth: Wendell, Wendell, he's our man! He'll make you choke or I'm not Ruth-Ann!
    • She does this again in an Imagine Spot if Milo catches the fly ball and wins his glory:
Ruth: Milo, Milo, he's our man... Actually, he's my man! Get your hands off him!
    • She does this one more time after the citizens praised Milo as a hero after saving a neighbor's cat, stopping a thief and saving the museum from a giant baseball display, even after not winning his glory:
Ruth: Captain Flamingo, he's our man!
    Milo: I am?
Lizbeth: He'll always get the glory from his number one fan.
