A young woman is found stabbed to death with her boyfriend's name written in her blood right beside her body. Is he guilty, or is he being framed?
Tropes for the episode:
- Couldn't Find a Pen: A variation. The young man is indeed being framed. Although there is blood on the victim's index finger, Sid determines that the first stab wound actually paralyzed that half of her body - rendering her incapable of even moving that hand, let alone using it to write her boyfriend's name.
- Hologram: Adam finds a small piece of a hologram that is part of a wristband, examines it and tells Jo he discovered that even pieces contain the entire picture. It turns out to be a crucial clue leading to the actual culprit.
- Obfuscating Postmortem Wounds: The perp stabs a female victim forcefully three times, killing her. Then he adds seven more stab wounds to make it look like a crime of passion, assuming that her junkie ex-con boyfriend will be blamed.
