"Enough" is the 6th episode of Season 5 and the 98th overall. It originally aired November 5, 2008.
Three drug dealers on trial for murder are found shot to death with their own guns in three different locations. Meanwhile, the star witness in their case has been attacked. Adam's job is on the line due to cutbacks.

Tropes for the episode:

  • Amoral Attorney: The lawyer of one of the dealers convinces those of the other two defendants that the three of them (the lawyers) should each kill their clients.
  • A Scar to Remember: A perp carves lines into a witness' face as a reminder not to rat him out.
  • Evil Lawyer Joke: Mac exchanges these with the attorney of one of the defendants. Mac visits him right after the man's office has been sprayed for bugs. The man kills a cockroach while complaining that his fumigators didn't do a good job, and says it's fitting since he and the bugs are from the same species. When Mac stares at him blankly, he asks: "What, you don't like lawyer jokes?" Mac replies, "I don't like lawyers." At the end of their conversation, Mac turns it on him with "What do they call a thousand lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start." Pause. "What, *you* don't like lawyer jokes?"
  • Out with a Bang: One of the victims is shot in the head while in the back seat of his car with a prostitute. She takes advantage of the situation by dumping his body and stealing the car.
  • Rule of Three: Three drug dealers with three different lawyers, three guns at three different crime scenes, and three brothers who are suspects.
  • Scars Are Forever: Short of extensive plastic surgery, the witness will have scars for life due to the knife carvings.
  • Vigilante Execution: The victims are killed by people taking the law into their own hands so that society won't have to foot the bill for their incarceration, believing the men to be beyond redemption.
